Day 4 - I feel pretty good, how are you?

This must be my lucky day, I get to start a question!

Good morning, my fellow withdrawers.  (Anybody got a better name than "withdrawers"?)  How's everyone?

Thanks susie, catup. It makes me feel good to know my posts have helped.

It is just so wierd. Like I said in a post a while back. I can't turn it on, I can't turn it off. I write whatever comes. I don't write them to anyone, they are really for everybody. Mainly for me.

When it comes, it is usually fast and overwhelming. Some of the posts have actually taken so much from me that I have had to lay down.
I actually had to go take a bath. It takes so much out of me.

Onestep - Collace(sp) I think it is only RX. Its "gentle" supposably.

Well since you asked... Here it goes...

During on of my forced w/d periods (i.e. couldn't find the right doctor yet) I was dealing with the inevitable runs which is the first guest of the w/d party.  I ran out (pardon the pun) an got Imodium.  Well just as soon as I took it wouldn't you know a doctor called in a script for me.  I promptly drank a condiderable amount of the cought syrup (tussonex) which of course also stops you up.  Well 24 hours later I am just sitting in my living room when all of a sudden I felt sick, real sick, high feaver, chills, vomiting.  Then I get this seriously bad stomach ache like I have to go to the bathroom really bad.  Stupid me just chalks this up to the tussonex and wait another 24 hours. By then I can't walk.  I go to the ER where they tell me I have acute Diverticulitus.  They wonder why such a young person should have this (yeah I wonder). Well the end of the story is I now have no zigmoid colon at all.  It was removed this year in an operation that was possibly the most unpleasant overall experence of my life. So I am sure the drug use cause this to happen.  BTW if you are using please don't take Imodium any where around the time that you are actually using because it can be bad...

Pixi, don't worry one bit about the flexeril.  But have you taken it b4?  It really knocks me out for a long time, and I know you don't want to be tired during the day.  But if you know what it will do, go right ahead.  I say, do anything that eases the pain but keeps away the drug of choice.  Nothing but opiates has ever attracted me enough to abuse.

Ya know, I don't think I would be rounding day 4 without ALL the posters on the board, but especially you, Pixi.

I really hope most of us have a decent night.  Sleep is important for healing, I'm told.

I'm not sure what to do for tonight.  I'm feeling really tired and achy right now and I really want to sleep later.  My choices are trazadone (fatigue tomorrow), flexeril (fatigue tomorrow), xanax (slightly afraid of dependence), klonopin (didn't work that well last night), doxepin (antidepressant, not sure if I'll be tired tomorrow or not).  Oh and I also have a couple of ambiens.

I guess I'm taking a vote if anyone's interested.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone and thanks again for the support last week!  I am still doing well on day 6 and hope everyone else is doing good too.  This is one of the hardest things I have ever had to deal with in my life and believe me there have been more downs than ups but finally I am starting to feel a little better.  I still would love an oxy and I can get them whenever but I just find other ways to spend my time which is not so easy but can be done.  I even had to go get my best friend from high school one on saturday which would have been day 3 for me and I had money to get one as well but did not!  I am proud of myself and I am so happy I found this site.  I am not saying I dtd not want an oxy more than anything but I did it and I think if you put your mind to it that it can be done.  The w/d's suck and I know this but you just have to come to the conclusion that this isn't working for me anymore and try to get over the emotional rollercoaster you will be on for months or more I am sure.  We can all beat this even though it maybe the biggest battle of our lives.  Goodluck to everyone.
