Day 5 Codeine withdrawal

Hi Everyone,

I am currently going through withdrawals from Neurofen plus, I was taking roughly around 24-32 pills a day (I know right!). I am a 27 year old male and have been taking them for about 6-7 months. The past 5 days have been hell:

Day 1 & 2, Flu, diarrhoea, sweating, restlessness etc etc
Day 3 & 4 were probably my worse (so far) Nauseous all day and then as soon as it was time for bed time I would constantly throw up or heave from 9pm until 6pm (Dr seemed to think it was from anxiety). You don't realise how long the nights are until you can't sleep. The Dr gave me some sleeping pills but I was determined not to use them and can say last night I got about 8 hours of sleep on my own!!!

I still don't really have any appetite but I am feeling slightly more positive. I have been dragging myself on dog walks which absolutely take it out of me! Today I'm going to watch a friends son play football, I'm just so damn tired of sitting in the house thinking about my symptoms all day!

If there is any one out there doing anything similar or thinking about going cold turkey, I would suggest doing it, get a week off work and just do it! I will not lie, IT IS NOT EASY but our bodies are amazing and so are all you people, we can do it! I promise you!

Sending you all my best love!!

Sweatz

Pro biotics will help. With time you will feel better and better. You will be thankful for getting rid of this habit and would appreciate the fact that life is beautiful without codeine.

Keep filling your time with the positive hobbies; I have found that so important. Great job, these drugs ravish every ounce of our bodies and we don't realize til we stop.

Congrats! You are doing good by going out walking. Just like DS said, keep drinking and eat healthy too!
Wishing for the best!

Congrats on 5 days!!  Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids during this time.  Are you taking any vitamins/supplements?  That can help too.  We need to feed our body something good!  Keep walking the dog and getting out like you are doing.  Any aftercare planned?

Keep it going, you are doing great!!
