Day 6 Vicodin detox...Extreme Nausea

Extreme nausea all of the sudden...on day 6??? I'm really freaking out and not sure what to do..It hit me literally out of nowhere and it seems like the rest of my stomach is getting on bored for the ride! I don't know what to do. I don't have multi symptom immodium unfortunately =( And I literally feel like I'm going to pass out from it...I'm also shakey.
I went out for the first time since Sunday this evening...Just to the drug store and then to pick up pizza. Then it just hit me.

"Extreme nausea all of the sudden...on day 6???"

Its not uncommon. Nausea has lasted for lengthy periods of time for opiate withdrawals. It can come and go. Here's an old thread on this site where a lady is nauseated 10 DAYS after Vicodin detox.

There are many things that helped me with the nausea. Sipping Ginger Ale really helped but I like using a remedy called INSTANT GINGER. It comes in an orange box and can be found in the Asian section of most stores. You mix a packet with hot water and it tastes great too. But it really works fast and is easy to get down when you have that gagging feeling. Its great stuff.

Hope you get to feeling better.
Good luck

If you don't care for ginger that much I'm not sure....they have INSTANT GINGER tea with honey and one sweetened that may mask or..."water down" the ginger taste. I guess you could get a box as its only a couple bucks and try one.

Here are some other herbal teas that may help with your nausea:

Lemon

Hot lemonade or lemon tea may help relax your stomach and reduce nausea. Lemon juice creates an alkaline-forming state in your stomach, reducing the roiling of excess acid and calms esophageal spasms, according to the book, "Concise Encyclopedia of Foods and Nutrition." Squeeze half a lemon in an 8 to 10 oz. glass of hot water, add some honey and sip for relief.
Peppermint

Peppermint is an old folk remedy for the treatment of nausea and other stomach upsets, and is used in many medications to relieve stomach problems. Peppermint helps reduce the motility of the stomach and relieve spasms which may contribute to nausea, according to Jethro Kloss in his book, "Back to Eden." You can use fresh or dried herb to make peppermint tea; or for convenience, keep a box of prepared peppermint tea bags in your pantry. Peppermint can aggravate acid reflux in some sensitive people. If your symptoms worsen or you experience heartburn after drinking peppermint tea, stop and consult your herbalist for other suggestions.
Licorice Root

Licorice root protects the lining of your esophagus and stomach by creating a thin mucous film that prevents stomach acids from damaging the tissue. The tea is sweet and soothing to the throat and helps relieve nausea, especially when it is related to heartburn and acid reflux. Although you can make tea from the dried root or the extract, there are some excellent prepared teabags available, which makes it easy to keep on hand. Licorice root can raise the blood pressure, so consult your health practitioner before using it if you have hypertension.

Hopefully one of these alternatives works if you cant do the ginger.
Take care :)

I can't seem to stomach the taste of ginger...But I like ginger ale. If I don't care for ginger so much, would the instant ginger be a bad idea? It just makes me feel like gagging. Not always but I'm assuming with the way my stomach has been it probably will.

Thanks for the advice.

possible dehydration can cause nausea.  Or have the bad luck to get a virus that is going around everywhere.  Sorry.  You should be peeing at least once an hour (clearish) to be fully hydrated, unless you exercise and sweat it out that way.
