Day 7 off Methadone

Today is day #7 without methadone and I am really feeling worse now than ever. Nausea, hot and cold, leg cramps. I've been taking the vitamins Gnarly suggested. Just wondering how much longer is this going to last? I thought I was starting to feel a little better a coulpe days ago, then yesterday it hit me again. This really *****.

I know N/A would probably help, but I'm a nurse and just don't want to risk running into someone and then everyone finding out. Haven't been sleeping, taking melatoin but it doesn't seem to help. I have so much to do this week, I want to make sure the kids have a nice Christmas, but I really don't want to do anything... ugh I'm so disgusted with myself.

AS you start to feel better get pluged into an aftercare program you will find the physical withdrawal although miserable is often the ez part of this it is the mind screw of having to live life on lifes terms without mothers little helper to run to it really helps to have a real person to talk to somebody thats been there
most of our  successful members make time in there life for things like N/A or A/A some sort of support group get plugged in as soon as you can the mental mindscrew is on the way and you want to be ready for it good luck and God bless......Gnarly

Try lyrica...........it was used for opiate withdrawals a few years ago ...until Drs found that they could keep people on suboxone or meth for years and get money from the government.Gabapentin is an older cheaper rx version of the same thing. You take it about 7 to 14 days and you feel no withdrawals or cravings and youre done... Hope this helps

Thanks for the advice. This will be my first Christmas clean in years! Hard to believe a few years ago me and the bf leaving his family's house on Christmas Eve to go meet up with our herion guy. These drugs have taken me down some dark roads and I defineately don't want to go back. Thanks for putting some light at the end of this very dark tunnel.

Dont fret. Im 22 days clean from opiates and there were days I thought I had it beat, only to come back with a vengeance on day 5 , then day 8and 9, then day 15. It comes and goes in waves. Ive had a good solid 7 days now, and finally feeling better every day. Some anxiety, still resless sleep, but I am sleeping at 2 hour clips now. take care. We all heal at different times. Six years ago, I was coming off of oxycontins and meth, took me 3 solid weeks for just the horrendeous withdrawals to cease. Ya know the bumble bee stinging thruout the body, legs kicking, diarreah, the whole nine yards, this time, different, so one never knows.

most of the symptoms your describing will leave within 10 days some go to 2 weeks but most dont keep in mind this stuff is very cyclic and just when you think you got it beat it comes back with a vengence .....its not like pills you dont get better in a few days this stuff plays by its own rules and there cruel time to start on the whey protein shakes pick it up at walmart for 15 bucks for a 2 lb can there loaded with amino acids extra vitamins as well as raw protein all of witch your brain needs to heal I recamend it for everyone that detoxes the chocolate flavor good you just mix it with milk drink 2 a day till you come around for the leg cramps add some potassium to the vitamins your all ready taking you can beat this thing but you got to fight back hang in there the first month is ruff.........Gnarly
