Improve relationships and thinking

I'm taking painkillers for a very long time. Now I find I'm grumpy and don't like talking to friends.
When I do talk I tend to have difficulty getting to the point. My thinking has become confused and my fear of sounding stupid has led to my avoiding my family and friends. I stay inside most of the day watching tv. My housework has piled up as has my laundry and dust balls.

I can't go over my monthly prescription total but that doesn't mean I don't try. My script now is Hydrocodone/acetominophine 10mg (3x/day). Around the second week of each month I count my pills and try and budget how to get through until my  next script. This happens every month. (Sometimes I count my remaining pills 4-6 times)

My pain back, neck, knee. I think these all may have begun with an injury but now they are a part of my getting older.

I want to quit. My thinking and management tools and all my willpower are smoke and dust.

Hiya. Everything you described is write outta the opiate addict handbook!:) That was my life exactly as well. We don't HAVE willpower (has nothing to do w/ that); when it comes to pills, we have zero control.

As my lovely pals above stated, if you wanna get off the merry-go-round, that ain't so merry, tell us. We've all been where you are. It can be done.

Keep posting, and let us know when:)
