Narcotics meaning anything that could be another addiction. Or addictive
I've had RLS all my life now the withdrawing is making it worse. I remember being eight and having it. Mirapex or baclofen. They are a non addictive muscle relaxants. I told my doctor I want no narcotics. But I'm still not sure it's going to affect my withdrawals. I feel great. Except for at night. I was on methadone four years five including my addiction. So I have forgotten how bad my RLS is.
A blunt but caring question---do you really need muscle relaxers? I didn't know if this is a new or old problem/bottle. Tell us about what's going on w/your muscles. Is it due to withdrawal, or something else like a previously existing condition? Can you tell us what the medicine is? Some muscle relaxers are highly addictive; some, not so much. But most that I know of have sleepiness/dizziness/giddiness as a side effect, and that's like catnip to addicts that are right in the middle of their own psychodrama, anxiety, and often, pain from withdrawing from their favorite DOC's. It's a welcome diversion! ;-) Not that you'd do that on purpose, of course. I am very proud of your clean time! Just think carefully before you take anything. Drugs are crutches. A crutch is a tool. Sometimes all of us need a crutch when we are crippled by injury or illness. The trick is recognizing (and being strong enough to act on it) when we no longer need them for their intended purpose, but for another.
