Dealing with an actual flu on Day 6 of C/T

I have been reading this site for a very long time but has never posted on it.  I have been addicted to vicodin for about 3 1/2 years and have quit a couple of times, which lasted no longer than 10 days.  Last Saturday, I started c/t again and it was the easiest detox I have gone through, up until now.  I felt pretty decent day 4 through 5, but yesterday I woke up with a severe head cold and cough.  It is even worse today.  I am feeling pretty down today because I just want to feel decent.  I have had some thoughts of breaking down today because all I want to do right now is lay around in bed and that remains me of the vicodin.  I will remain strong though.

Also, is there any otc cold/cough medicine I should stay away from?

Also, just wanted to thank people on here because even though I never posted on here, I have read this site for help with dealing with the addiction and it has helped so much.  So, thanks.

I was taking about 8-12 Lortabs a day for about the last 9 months this time.  I am not sure what milligrams they were because I didn't get them from a doctor.  Like I said, I had gone through c/t wd's before and besides sneezing and runny nose, I never got sick like this.

I don't have any at home but I am at work were it is accessible to get them.  I work at financial exchange so with how the stock market has been, I've had to come to work.  I just need to make it 5 more hours.

I'm glad you posted.  I hope you will stay strong --- do you still keep the drugs around for 'just in case?'     Please continue to post and know that many are here to help encourage you.  All the best.
