so yesterday

my son and i were driving home from memphis i had him fly in so he could see me graduate from rehab and we have a little road trip back home everything was going great and one hour from home BAM he smashed into the car that had stopped on the highway in traffic in front of us which pushed that car into another everyone was ok the people we hit had back problems but i am so so so sore from the airbag and the seatbelt we didn't see it coming and no brakes were applied but my point is even tho i am oh so sore and this really stressed me out the thought of using never entered my mind even at the rehab when i was dealing with stuff from my past becoming sad and anxious (which i now have  anxiety) i never never once wanted to use this makes me feel good cuz in the past it was way different i know i still have a long road ahead of me working my recovery every day its is all so worth it even tho I'm very sore can barely move and am feeling depressed over the whole thing i dont want to use and that in it self i a blessing

Oh I'm so sorry Kelly. But this is just the first lesson in getting better. You will have many of these situations. Did you get checked out? Everything ok?

This is where aftercare HAS to happen. Do you have an outpatient program set to help with the transition?  It is very important. And of course lots lots of AA and NA meetings. Yes you will have thoughts but that is normal. It is how you deal with those thoughts that is important. Breath through it. Positive thinking.

You have come so far. Don't go back now.

I am glad you are okay.  I hear those airbags throw quite a punch.  Stay close to those who are clean and supportive right now.  Pain has a way of messing with our heads~
