I hope my prayers don't offend anyone. You certainly dont have to be a Christian to get clean from drugs. God helped me and I encourage others that are open to him to seek strength from reading the bible because I honestly believe there is power in the word. Many other people here don't believe and that is a personal choice. I respect all people that are trying to better themselves and get a free life back.  
Don't be scared of offended by people like me there are all sorts of addicts here Im just one

OK  bagofbirds.  I'm going to put you on little D's " hit list."  his uncle Jim and his dad are the only ones on it so far. But he gets real serious praying for the souls on that list and you are on it.  

I never read my bible front to back. I enjoy bible studies if the mormons or jehovias knock. Sometimes I go to church on Easter of just because I want to. But mostly I just have a personal relationship with God and know for certain who He is. If I seek to learn more about him .  I read His word.  Love you God bless you bag (little D cant say bagofbirds but his will refer to you as bag God knows for certain who YOU are ")

Hi Calamity.  OT = Old Testament.  always found it more interesting, then but i've always come at it from a literary point of view not so much a religious one.  i like the stories!  I like the crazy God character!  my favorite is probably the book of Job, but really like the book or Ruth as well.  have you read that?  awesome!

I would recommend the New Testement   John or Romans  or just open it and see if a verse is something you might want to chew on for awhile. It is food.  It says there is power in the word. From experiece I believe it.  When I have lost jobs I started to read more and gotten better ones than what I lost. He always rewards me when I turn to Him
Every time in withdrawals when I thought I would cave I called to Him as he says to, and he enabled me to bear the pain another amount of time. And ohhhh the joy that fills my soul  He made me whole

Cal, I am inspired to be a better Christian when reading your posts and the strength in them. Whe I was using, I could not pray or read much because my sin separted me from God. Today I am  a new creation and so very grateful! You have been a blessing to me and many others. Keep posting!! xxoo

hmmm.  What is this "bible" you are refering to?  some sort of book?  really though, what part would you read for this sort of thing?  i've always been partial to the OT.  any parts you might recommend?

Its all good Calamity.  This is about your recovery and if you find comfort in God then you have every right to say what you do.  You know that here we take what we want and leave what we dont.  I look at the Footprints saying everyday along with the Serenity prayer.....There is no way i did this alone and when there were only 1 set of prints, he was carrying me~~~~~Just stay who you are girl. I, personally, would never be offended by someone saying prayers for me.  I was baptized a Catholic but don't go to church anymore.  I hadn't pulled my bible out in over 10 years.  I actually pulled it out on day 2.  Sometimes you just need direction....
