Do testosterone levels spike after withdrawals?

I haven't posted on here in awhile and this time I have an actual question. I know testosterone levels decrease after years of opiate use. What happens to them after you withdrawal? The reason I ask is because I quit Methadone over a month ago and feel that my testosterone has increased to a rate higher than before the long-time opiate habit. I've been weight training so this is of some importance to me. I would think if it is true that testosterone levels spike, one would build muscle much faster than in the past. I could be completely wrong about this, but thats why I'm posting.

I think it does after 13 years of heroin addiction.mines seemed to go through the roof. Well i dont do a lot of training. But my sex life went through the roof i mean i felt like i was 21 again and drove my wife nuts lol and im 44 so i think my testosterone level definately went up. I dont know much medically about it but i also started to do some weight training, not a lot but enough just to keep me fit and build my muscles back up and it happened very quickly ,a lot quicker than i expected so i think that this may be true.....James

I don't know for sure (not a doctor) but it must. When I quit my skin gets greasy, I get acne and I'm sporting a solid.

I am in no way shape or form a MD, and I am a woman, but I can tell you that opiates repress sexual desires. At least they did for me and when I got off it sky-rocketed. It happended with all the opiate based substances I took.  It seems to me almost like the body is trying to come back online and realign practically everything. What was once void is now coming back with a vengence. Your doing the right thing by keeping your body in shape. Good luck and best wishes!

Plus.. i know im stating the obvious here ..but pain killers not only suppress pain, but also good feelings as well.  They put sort of a numbing blanket over everything.  So, now that I can feel again..everything..food, sex, excercise feels alot better so it makes my desire go up as well.

I know! I could eat a freakin cow, but I understand that could be an addiction in and of itself. And as far as sex goes, I've disappointed a few women since getting clean. I've tried every mental exercise I can think of. You women are so lucky you don't have to worry about that, I mean I'm sure you orgasm fast as well, and I'm sure you just wanna say, "are you done yet?" I'm sure my stamina will get better, I've just decided to lay until then.

I'm not a doctor but I can almost garentee test levels go up. I stoped lifting about a year ago because of the pills and I've went from a solid 205 to a wimpy 165. I've been clean for 32 days and I've put on 5 pounds of muscle without even working out. This is defenitly a good thing. Just started lifting again yesterday hope to put on weight fast.

Testosterone shot thru the roof with me.  Sex life is friggen so much better.  Stamina is not an issue the longer you stay cleaner.  I'll let the wifey do her thing and then I do mine.  Hang in there and I bet it will get better for you.  You just gotta pace yourself at first to satisfy her too.
