I am currently at home detoxing myself from a nasty heroin addiction. I'm n day one, and I know that the next few days are going to b the hardest. I really want to be clean, and I pray to God that I can get through this hell. I have got three kids to take care of, and  I don't want to lose them. They are more important to me than anything. They are finally ahead of the drugs at this point, so I'm happy that they are actually numero uno for once. I hope someone can help me out through this quest. I don't want to be alone.

Just keep moving, my friends have gone out for 3 hour walks while withdrawling and beaten it.

Hi, heroin withdrawls are nasty.  When i had no choice but to withdrawl, it would be the first night like being in hell, the second night worse and the third night was bad but not as severe. I have 3 children too, and the last thing you want is them to see you going through horrid withdrawls. You may want to think about getting clonidine ( non addictive ) and valium from the doctors as this is what we use to withdrawl and it does work wonders. Thats the only advice i can give you. The most painful thing i have ever experienced is heroin withdrawls, i often compare it to the movies " Trainspotting " and " The Basketball Diaries ".
One thing that did help me, if i woke up sick i would go for a walk for half an hour and that night would not be as intense. Not sure if it was psychological but it did help.
All people are different and if you cant get meds to make it bearable, everyone knows you must walk it off as your in withdrawls, even around the house. Thats all i can suggest sorry.

Yes the next 3-5 days will be horrible for you. You will be sick, the runs, temp changes, body aches, sleep then no sleep. You can do it!!! Just pretend like you have the flu. Use imodium for the runs. Takes hot showers and baths for the chills and pain. After day 5 you will be better but have a raw stomach as I say. But in a couple of weeks you will be great.  Go to AA or NA meetings for support. Delete all your dealer numbers and friends who use. And keep coming here. Good luck!!!

Hi!!! Welcome! You have sure come to the right place for support, I do not have any experience with heroin but pills I do. I felt like crap physically for a few weeks but each day after 8 or so I felt a little better. It gets much eaiser ... Do you have support? Does anyone know about your addiction? How much and how long have you been using?
