Drug abuse..

Basically, i took some MDMA at the weekend & i took more than iv ever taken before (almost a gram) Since then i havent felt right at all, the next day i had a 'come down' felt low & quite emotional, the day after i woke up feeling confused, really light headed and faint, again still feeling low, today i woke up still feeling quite low & i have a cloudy feeling in my head, i also feel quite anxious and my mood is changing every soo often, i also feel asif my head is pulsing and it feels soo heavy. Im not really a drug taker, so im wondering if this is a normal feeling or there is something deeper happening inside my head that the drug has brought on. I know its my own fault for taking the drug, but i am really worried about how im feeling, so any thoughts on what could be going on would be much appreciated??  Thanks

I like all the answers here.  I think we all agree that these mdma and mda drugs are really bad for folks who already might have depression or anxiety.  also, people use alcohol as a way to try to control the feeling, but it really does make matters worse.  I do think that people of a certain age like to experiment, but it is true that you can develop serotonin syndrome and basically mess up your delicate brain chemistry ( mine is delicate too) so, erm, please take our advice and see a doctor.  just know that people you dont even know care about you and are glad you reached out on this forum.

Hi have you considered you may have seretonin syndrome?

I'd suggest a read up on it, it can happen from taking any serotonin using drug, it floods out of the gland too quickly, and completely empties it which can rarely allow adrenalin to flow back into the serotonin gland.

Also please - if you or anyone else is planning to use MDMA go to your local pharmacy and buy 5-HTP.  This will restore you're seretonin through the night etc its pretty much brain food!!  And continue to take it for a few days after this will really ease the come down. Honestly it's amaZing stuff.

Most often MDMA is not pure. If you mix PCP with amphetamine, it's a similar experience. I've taken pure MDA and pure MDMA, but there's no lab making that anymore, unless you know a chemist. Don't experiment with these drugs, they can cause long-term brain damage. The brain is amazingly placid, so most people recover from experimentation, but don't keep playing with your brain chemistry. Focus on a good diet and lots of water, you should be fine. If symptoms continue, see a doctor, you're life is a stake.

I dont recommend experiementing with any drug.  I am a recovering addict and this isnt something you want to get involved in.

You took alot of this.  Did you drink along with it?  If the symptoms dont subside you need to see your doctor and be honest with him/her.  If you are prone to depression or anxiety this will add to it.  Please keep us posted on how you are feeling~sara

Hi.  MDMA used to be a clean and lergal drug way back when I took it.  I did not really like it, or MDA, so I did not experiment much w it.  I found that it was quite intense the day after. Afterwards we would all have the symptoms you report.  I would suggest that you take in some healthy food: dark green veg, some fruit, and feel free to nap and take it easy.  After using many drugs, you will have a down feeling.  I have felt down after mdma, and opiates as well. I am not surprised that you are still feeling the low effects.  you need nutrients that were taken out of your system by this drug!

If you are prone to depression, anxiety or any other mental illness, I would suggest that you keep your experimentation to a minimum, and always make sure someone in your group is not on any drug at all to assist if there are any complications.

If you continue to feel out of sorts, go to your gp, and tell them the truth of the matter and you will get it all sorted.

I quit using any mind bending drugs at all because of these terrible feelings afterwards.  No, this is not your fault.  It's the drugs!  take care! xxxx!

I can understand your anxiety.
I can recommend you see a therapist about the anxiety, but this forum is not about street drugs.
You could try posting on our Drug Abuse Forum. They may be able to explain why you are feeling the way you do.
I'd also recommend seeing your doctor. I don't know anything about the drug you took and have no reference to it's after effects.
Good luck
