Susie ,when you give a urine-test as required for all methadone patients the Dr. will definitely inquire as to the reason your using methadone and benzodiazepines as the people before said, people can overdose and die of respiratory failure as the two act in a sinergistic manner. Be careful!!!
in the same regards youre doctor will probably know how youre body will react the best, but even sometimes the doctors dont know what theyre talking about, but if you ahve a good relationship and he knows you really well, console in him and regardlessconsult with him ebfore you take them, but generlaly in not large doses you will be fine.
Please, please, please call your doctor and consult with him. Call today. None of us are experts, but we all have real life experience.
When it comes to what drugs can interact and what to do, you really need to talk to the doctor.
taken in large dose it can cause such resparitory depression that you it could be fatal. it all depends on the individual. i am currently on 60 mgs of methadone a day and 1.5 mgs of klonopin, trying to wean down to nothing. i was at 4mgs of klonopin a day and 4 mgs of lorazepam a night. now im down to 1.5 mgs of clonazepama dn 23mgs of lorazepam. i dont ever have any problems with the two but i personally know ppl who have died from benzo and methadone combos.
