go outside get a few rays. that's a quick pick me up. I,m real anxious for some reason. got a few hrs sleep last night. getting ready to go for a dip in the creek. saltwater soaks are awesome.! its time to get out and stay out.just live and breathe that fresh air,cravings tapered off somewhat. been listening to foghat loudly bet ya don,t know who thay are lol. get out and seize the day. peace out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey sweetie, you've come SO far, please don't beat yourself up. You're doing awesome M!!. Day 9!! We knew there was going to be good days and bad...just ride it out!! you can do it!!. You know all too well I have had pity days this past week and you also know those days I was in "pity mode" got better....as will today for you. Every day we will have ups and downs but we are dealing with them pill free...which is the whole point right?? You've got this M. So you had a beer or two! big deal!! you needed to go out and enjoy yourself after this week we've had. But you're feeling totally normal....i.e. you had a few and you are feeling it today...yes we are both getting old and it sux that a few beers results in a hangover lol but the difference M is that you are dealing with it without pills!! and that is a HUGE difference!! We got this M. I need you to put a smile on that pretty face for my benefit......and yes, I am using guilt to get you to pull yourself out of the funk hahaha..oh and by the way....I hear you refer to yourself as "pathetic" one more time I WILL be making that 800 mile bike ride to b!tchslap your a$$. Cheer up lady WOOOHOOO :)

Hey there, the emotional roller coaster is very normal. There will be ups and downs, and highs and lows. You just need to fight through it. Getting outside in the fresh air is a great thing, and will help. As I'm sure you know by now, alcohol will not help. Try to stay away from that, at least right now. You have been doing amazing. Stay focused and strong, and get your butt outside and get some exercise. Take care, you can do this!!
Yep, it takes time for that Brain to Balance back..Going out in the Sun, listening to Music and or some kind of Exercise helps bring up those Brain Chem/Hormones that were knocked down from substance abuse.
The Roller-coaster will ease up a bit, and you might be stuck at the Top of the Ferris wheel for awhile..However, the circus will shut down in time. Just do not let that Monkey jump back on you. lol

The rollercoaster or rollerscoaper as I called it by accident (or not (:) the other day is a heck of a ride. It's totally normal for you to want to be normal and go enjoy the sun and some beers. While this MAY be possible for you some time down the road, alcohol this early in the game is a BAD idea. You need your brain and body to heal and alcohol is not conducive to this. Personally, I didn't take a single drink for over a year after I got sober. In recovery, I had to examine my relationship to ALL substances, not just the one I abused. I also really needed to heal my brain and body after all those years of opiates and steroids, hormones, immunosuppresants, etc. It was a good break. I find that now I can enjoy a glass or two of wine with dinner (wine and food are passions of mine) But I always, as we all do, need to be aware of our relationship to ALL substances. We have to be aware of cross addiction, of filling voids with mind altering substances, and any addictive behaviour. Everyone's journey is different.
For now just take really good care of yourself. Like a cleanse, healthy diet, exercise, and emotional healing in the form of therapy, counselling, support groups etc.
You've been through a lot and you need to rebuild.
Drink in the sun, but leave the beer for now at least okay?
Thank you all so much! I pulled myself out of that depressing funk earlier with the help of you guys and my special friend D. Exercise helped immensely! I will be a gym addict in no time. Healthy addiction and I will make sure to only pop in once a day! lol You guys are the best xoxoxo
Awesome! I became an exercise addict when I got clean. I hiked 3 k a day and did hot yoga EVERY day. It was amazing- totally got my natural endorphins pumping again. This is definitely a good thing to do- healthy addiction. Just don't overdo it (: Don't wanna hurt yourself and then end up unable to exercise!!! This happened to me and it was the worst!
