Energy after stimulants? Relapse-help

I could use some help, please. I've abused drugs most of my life. Mostly prescription opiates. I got off those but took up a stimulant drug, Nuvigil. (I have major depression, no energy, feel lethargic and apathetic,  so it was easy to get my dr. to prescribe stimulants.)I'd gotten off this drug but now, six  weeks later, was still extremely lethargic and apathetic. Today I got desperate to feel at least decent and relapsed. I only took 2/3 pill but there are more available for tomorrow. I don't really want to do this. I want to get rid of the other pills I got today and end this. But will I ever have energy again without them?

Hello everyone. Thanks for the help. My Subutex taper is going great. I've gone from 4-5 pills (8mg) s day down to 2 1/2 in a week. I stopped the Nuvigil after two days but just switched to Adderall instead. Taking 30 mg in the a.m. snd 20 mg in the afternoon.  Four days in a row. Going to just take one 30mg dose today. I'm trying to work up the strengh to flush the test of the bottle before I get used to it. I think I'll be ok in just a few days as long as I keep it to just a week of using it. The big problem now is getting myself to flush it. I can't give it to my husbandto hold-he abuses stimulants, too.  Once a month he goes on a several days binge.

Maybe a support like a family member or friend can help you with weaning off the drug. I really think, given the longevity of your history, to reach out to your doctor and tell him you want to be "weaned" . This is the kind of drug that shouldn't be stopped suddenly; maybe that's why you feel so poorly. Anyway, your friend (or family member) could perhaps monitor your pill taking daily, and he/she should have the drugs with him/her. Just an idea. But you really should not have stopped that drug the way it did. It is in the class of drugs that you can't stop, just one day, without medical supervision. Keep me posted. Good luck and God bless.

I am 33 days clean from long term percocet abuse.  I feel a lot better but still suffer some lethargic days.  But I have found that nothing makes you feel better than B vitamins.  I take a complex B twice and day and boy does it make a difference.  Try...its not expensive!!
Best of Luck!! Congrats!
