i find if have something to look forward to i can get out of bed easy, if i already know my day is going to be stressful i just wanna lay there, i also take a one a day vitamin and alot of B vitamins sometimes get those 5 hour energy, but i dont feel like they put on in the commercial lol
You are right. When I know that my day is going to be busy I know I have to get out of bed and get moving. When I know its gonna be a nothing day or a stressful day I lay in bed and its hard to get up. I take a good multi-vitamin. I tried a energy drink a long time ago & I hated the taste but that was almost 10 years ago so i hoping they came out with a new flavor. Thanks so much for your advise.
I'm a little over 3 months clean too and I have those days also. I usually drink a red bull on those days and just try to tough it out. Congrats on your clean time!
Exercise is absolutely crucial to my energy levels along with quality food and supplements.
First off congrats on your clean time! Way to goooo! Energy, ughh. I am almost nine months clean and i too have those days. Less energy a bit lethargic, sometimes anxiety. I think it is what is called life. I actually just got over my first reall sickness since I have been clean. It was tough. Id ont remember being sick. When I was on pills being sick was ok because I was high. strange. But ya, energy comes back but you have to earn it. We dont just wake up and start running around. IT takes our bodies and minds time. I remember on pills just waking up, taking a pill and boom, enerygy all day. Now we must exercise, take vitamins, eat healthy get a good sleep and so on. life Good luck SUnny
same thing fireby said.Try it for a week-You'll be glad you did. Good cardio exercise for thirty minutes or more per day will really help your brain and body to work the way it is supposed to.Also eating right and not a bunch of junk food that causes your body and mind to be in a constant state of sugar rush and sugar crash. That's kind of what we were doing in the first place only with pills instead of sugar. Hope this helps
Congratulations on the 3 1/2 months! I have the same problems with energy & agree 100% about the exercise benefit. It helps not just the physical but gives you an emotional boost as well; that endorphin thing I guess! If you are somewhere warm or sunny, getting outside for a walk would be great (@ least sounds so good - its 20 degrees and snowy where I am; haven't seen the sun in quite awhile :( I'm sure time will help too . .
I am an energy drinking fool... I keep it to no more than two a day but it helps a lot to carry my dragging bootie through the day...lol
I'm definately going to start walking my dog in the morning. i am lucky because i live in Texas so it doesn't get too cold here. I'm also gonna try a energy drink on the really bad days, I just gotta find one that I can tolerate the taste. I think SunnySideUp is right we are just living now when before we would live in a world where you could just pop a pill and get energy. It's been a long time since I haven't been on pills so I have to learn over again how life really is without them. But I will take a horrible sober day over my best day not sober.
I'm about where u r in recovery..almost 4 months. To be honest, I've never been a morning person; since I can remember, youth, college, whatever, before the pain med addiction, I NEVER wanted to get out of bed. When on the pain meds, the ONLY reason I didn't mind was cause I could take something to get high on... So tricking myself.
I m not a morning person, so I've learned not only to accept it, but embrace it lol. My wife would rather I not be a morning person than have me an addict. :))
W/ regards to energy, I've truly found working out, walks, vitamins truly do help.
