Just curious on everyones 'journey', when did you get your energy back?  I did a load of laundry and thought I ran a marathon.  Everything feels so exurting!  I am doing the Thomas Recipe so I am sure that can help but no appetite makes you weak too.  Just curious wbout everyone.

Thanks for so much input.  Ok, I am with a few of you on the exercise, I can barely walk outside a few hundred yards and I feel like I ran a marathon!!  I am going to go sledding this Sat with my nephew so maybe I will sweat this stuff out.  I think that is the secret.  Getting the toxins out and I know from being someone who has worked out for over 20 years that that is a great way.  To GOBig, I was on Norcos for about 8 months and then went to oxy's when 4 norcos were like candy. So I was on oxy for 10 months, so a year and a half.  No I dont' go to meetings, this is my therapy here on this board crying and reading all the stuff.  My hubby is still taking them I have alot of oxy's here in my house and I have no urge.  I am a stubborn person, once I make my mind up I won't go back.  I will be careful bcuz I don't want to eat my  words.  I just got back from Costco and Walmart and I feel good.,  Best yet!!  How often do you , Nick722, take the amino acids?  I am loading up to but I have no appetite.  I was trying to lose some weight before this and this may give me a little boost,

Be patient - it takes a while.  How long were you on the oxy?  You going to meetings?

I tapered , so I didn't feel as bad as most (thank god)!
I still had to really get motivated to do it..but it was doable.

I was different than most. I do and have exercised almost everyday of my 41 years. I had to drag myself to the gym and/or park everyday during WDs. It was almost 6 months before I felt like I had normal energy again. I kept telling myself the exercise would help and I wanted to stay in shape but it was torture. I would walk around the park with my big dog crying because I felt so horrible and depressed. I bet so many people thought I was a nut.
Some people bounce back in a couple of weeks some of us it takes months

Trust me, the exercise was not easy! I started out with just walks in the evening. I did this starting my first day of withdraws and everyday after that. I waited until the sun went down, threw on some headphones, and was in my own little world. You just have to force yourself to do so. It was very difficult but made such a huge difference. It seemed to help me sleep better and help with the twitching feet thing. I think exercise and plenty of water did more help than anything else. Three of the times I went through withdraws I didn't take anything except advil. So I know for a fact it was the exercise that helped.

Hey There...

I started exercising on the 3rd day; 24 days clean now.  Exercise was slow at first but now in full swing 40-60 minutes of cardio - sweat/60 minutes of weights - strength. After 10 days, I was pretty much back in the groove except for one energy drink around 2PM...that carried me through the evening....don't need that now.

I also take a boatload of aminos, vitamins, etc and drink approx a gal of h20 a day...

Best part now ...I'm sleeping now....whew

It gets better...just takes time...and exercise, if you can do it, will probaly speed the process up...

Live Strong!

Peace,

Nick

yes it does take others longer than some.  It took me 3 months before i finally was able to work out again...i'm still not passed the depression phase but i'm guessing the cause for that is entirely different anyhow.....keep your chin up....no guts, no glory..

I'm so amazed at those of you who exercised during and shortly after withdrawels. I could barely get a glass of water to my mouth and that would wear me out. I'm sure if some how I did get exercise I would have felt better. I just don't know how I could have even forced myself. Of course, you exercise people are probably alot younger than me. lol Any excuse will do. lol
And what is the deal with the laundry thing? So many people (including me) just couldn't get laundry done. Do opiates distroy the clean laundry area of the brain? I'm on Sub. now which must reguvinate that part of the brain, because I'm looking around for laundry to wash.
Anyway I was at about 2 months when I relapsed and I still didn't have much energy or motivation at that point.
Good luck to everyone.

kind of remind me of when pregnant the doctor would say well it took you 9 months to get like this...Don't be surprised if it don't take you 9 months to lose it all!!!!
YUK!!
I was very stubborn and lost it quick, thank god, because when pregnant i was always a FAT A S S!!!!
So i am willing to give my brain time to heal..Just happy i have one LEFT!!

On day 8 I'm at work.  Last night I made dinner, did a load of laundry and played with my kids.  I was SSOOOOO proud of myself.  I felt like a school girl asking for a reward.  But I'm really worn out.  I'm on hour 8 of work.

wow that is a tough one for me..Because i used for about 3 yrs, i guess i had forgetten what my old energy use to be like...So even now at 5 months clean , it is not like it was back then...BUT in this time, i had a terrible surgery , lost alot of blood....That contributes to that...BUT i always tell myself, the reason i started was pain, the reason i took when not in pain was the energy, i would have house spic and span, all cloths was always done, etc,, but once that goes away and tolerence builds u just keep taking not to get sick...AND NEVER EVER get that first time feeling again...
So if this makes any sense, i am happy with what i have..I realize my house doesn't have to be spotless, etc...
But having the clear head, no more spending money, lying to docs, and family is worth more then anything to me...I was so tired of the chase...and merry- go - round.
I do beleive that this does alot to our brains when on for yrs, so it will take a while to feel like we were yrs ago....
hope this made some sense!!!
every day makes a difference
So keep going, god bless

it takes a long time for some. I'm still lacking energy and its been about 4 weeks now. I've been eating mega men vitamins from gnc like candy and B-12 and Red Bull and Monsters and it's getting there.

I thought something was wrong when the energy did not come back in two weeks.

But no big deal it just takes time..

Thanks for all the input, very encouraging.  My husband is cleaning the house.  A little too good, and said that as soon as I get the energy lets keep it all up.  I think he appreciates me more.  He lets me keep our room 'messy' and said if it doesn't bother me it's ok but if it does he will clean it up.  I am a very hyper energetic person and this SUCKS!!  The protein shakes, thanks, I do do that and am going to make one now.  I put choc powder, pnut butter, bannanas, ice and milk and blend it up and YUM!!   I am out of bananas, for you all know what reason.  I know the cleanest bathrooms in my town now!  LOL!!  Anyway, I am going to make one now and get going to shop a little.  I know I abused my body for so long that I do have to let it heal.  Thank God for my saint of a hubby!!  His day is coming though, hopefully soon.  I get happy burst too but boy do I cry for no reason too.  Weird, feeels like severe PMS!!!

Ugh, Evergy was a bad part of w.d for me., It seemed as thouugh it would never come back. I didn't have the desire to do anything, go anywhere, talk to anyone. Every step I took felt like I had 200lbs weights on my shoes. It was tough, but it gets better. Try excersizing, eating right....drink plenty of water.....take it one day at a time...

Luck to you...

I am at 22 days and I have most of it back during the day. I keep falling asleep at 10pm though. I do better when I exercise.

I still don't have any energy - day 7 for me, but I didn't expect any this early either.  I do notice that today I'm getting little happy bursts here and there and I'm excited to get home and play with my baby girl and my dogs!  If you are not eating much, have you tried maybe a protein shake??

Just getting more and more energy since day 21, now on day 26.  Now, I almost can't contain myself.  Hang in there, it'll happen.
