After years of methadone and many drugs prior, you have overcome the biggest beast I've know, your potential is limitless. It takes a great deal of faith and determination to do what you have. Never give up your progress, it does keep getting better. I am honored to call you a friend. Yin and Yang are one, balance is inevitable. I've been on this forum for almost a year and a half, and I have to say that you are one of the most caring people on here BUT you have no problem letting someone know when they're BSing themselves - BUT - you have such a way with words that they usually don't mind that you've seen through the crap and are asking them to face it and take responsibility.  Having you agree with some of the things I've written, or even come afterwards and put my ramblings in clearer terms has been great to see.

Hey Girl, I know how hard it is to get to this mark. Your humor and positive nature make this detox,recovery look easy breezy, but we all know better. I knew you were a special person the very first time I read one of your posts here on MH.  Your kind and encouraging words have supported and inspired so many people here, including me, on many, many occasions.  And now, 6 MONTHS - one half of a YEAR - clean and sober, I want to support and congratulate YOU!  Despite all you have been through and all of the losses you have incurred over the years, you have continued to push through with amazing strength.  Keep pushing Annie; you are SO worthy and SO deserving of all the benefits that this clean and sober life can bring.  You are a beautiful person, inside and out.  I feel honored to be a part of your life as we continue on through this healing and recovery process.  Thank you for being YOU, and for being the supportive and loyal friend that has permanently imprinted on my heart and in my life.  Congratulations again girl, you got this for sure :))

6 MONTHS....180 hard won DAYS!  You truly are proving "the naysayers" wrong aren't ya, girl?  Knowing where you have come from....makes this milestone even more precious.  IV'ing H since just b4 your 18th birthday and look at you 30 years later? WooHoo!!  You are learning to feel the joy and pain in this life and blooming as you grow.  You have a fragrance of helpfulness.  

I agree with Weaver that it is time to "find a treat for yourself, and know you deserve it."  Throughout my recovery journey, at times I got (and still do) severely off-track by taking care of others b4 I took care of myself.  You have also shared that you've always had a bad case of "caretakeritis" and you tend to be loyal to a fault when it comes to friends.  That there are things you will do for them that you won't do for yourself.  I can SO relate.....it has been part of my ongoing healing process to find balance in this area.

You are worthy.....you are loved.....and my prayer is that you will continue to love yourself with the strength that you love others~

Annie, Annie. Congratulations are in order here. You have been a Friend since the day you joined. Your Kindness, Strength and words of Wisdom has helped me in many ways during my own Journey. Either over the internet or the tele line. You are here for whoever needs your comforting at any giving moment. You took your brick wall and tore it down only to build a better and more beautiful brick wall against the Beast of Addiction. I know there are a few bricks that are not fitting in your wall yet. But you still do not give up. You will find the right ones in time. Also the little music store we have around here has turned me on to many new songs for this older Gal who still likes the old time music.You really do rock Girl.
