Today is day "74" free from Oxy for me!  I was using 120 mg of oxy a day for 6 yrs and quit cold turkey.  It was the single hardest thing I have ever done.  I would log on to this sight several times a week for the first month hoping someone would give me a solid answer to the question "how long does this last" well I never found one because there isnt one.  You must bull ahead full steam and suffer through it, you did this to yourself and you told yourself you would have to face withdrawl one day......make that day today!  I am glad that easter morning was the last day I took my last oxy, of course at the time I felt a little differently the pain, chills, depression, and general feelings of wanting to die lasted a little longer than I thought they would but I made it through.  I don't drink, smoke, or do any other kinds of drugs, I don't drink caffeine or sugar drinks.  Water is my only vice.  I work out everyday, take my vitamines and I eat very healthy foods, non of this helped me shorten my withdrawls.  It was one month before I felt normal again and now I fell great. So thanks to all who helped me and good luck to all about to start this new chapter in your beautiful life.  Brad

congrats on your clean time!!!!!!!!!!!!   My younger brother is abusing oxy's and I am trying to get him help.....but he is 18 and does not want to listen....but I am on day 6 of no vics and thanks to stories like yours I know I can do this!!!!

Hey congrads on your clean time and thanks for your honesty in your post about how long it took to feel like yourself again....people need to know it takes some time to feel better
its not always im great in a week...good luck with your walk in sobriety...what are you doing as far as aftercare???
