Fear of sleeping when on drugs

Hi guys. Any advice hugely appreciated. I have developed a drug dependancy over the past two years but have struggled to accept that I'm addicted. Purely because I never crave from drugs day to day and, if not around other people taking them, can quite happily go for weeks without them. My problem is that once I have a line (usually mcat or coke) I am unable to stop. The party is over, it's about 6am, everyones had their drugs and looking forward to finally sleeping but I'll go and pick up again, alone, and choose to have a sad and solitary 3 day bender in my bedroom. It gets to a point where the drug is having no euphoric effect at all and I'm utterly shattered, but the thought of switching off and finally sleeping fills me with absolute dread. Is this a form of addiction would you say? And is anyone any similar? I realise the obvious answer would be not to have a line in the first place but rarely can resist when friends are taking drugs around me.

Hey, twenties girl. Yes, you are an addict. It's called being a binge user. A person can go for weeks or even months w/o their drug of choice, but when they start, they can't stop. And usually bad, humiliating things start to happen. There are many many bingers in my meetings. Sounds like you have already admitted it, so that's the first step. Good for you. I know how scary it is to get help. But, we either get better or we get worse. Just go to an NA (or AA) meeting. You don't have to talk. Just sit and listen.

Like Sarah said, stick around and keep talking to us.

You have already answered your question about being addicted.  You have crossed that line and now it will only get worse until you completely walk away.  The first step is admitting you are powerless over these drugs and second, you need to change your playmates and playground.  The drug game is a deadly game and none of us are exempt.  Paranoia has already set in for you along with the lack of euphoria.  We all understand what you are going thru as we have been there.  We are also here to let you know there is hope and recovery.  I hope you stick around and talk to us.

You are of course right. Getting help scares me for lots of reasons, losing my friendship group being one of them. I know how petty and stupid that sounds.
