Fentanyl Withdrawal

I took off my last patch on November 5th.  I was on Fentanyl for 2 years at 100mcg/72 hours.  I do not know for sure but am thinking that at some point I will begin to sleep.  At day 20 clean and sober I am only able to rest for awhile(2 hours at a time and I never really get to sleep-the pain in my body is increasing.......any responses are appreciated. Thank you.

Congrats on 20 days!!!  Fentanyl wd's are wicked and can last longer.  The lack of sleep is normal and will come back so just hang in there.  We will experience rebound pain also once we are off our DOC and it can get pretty intense but that will subside also.  Try the hot baths.  That should give you some relief.  Keep us updated on how you are doing.  Hang tight and stay positive.  You are doing really great!!       sara

Wow I am surprised you waited this long to go on here and post....you made it to day 20 after being on that stuff for two years? I would say you have incredible strength!  Yes the no sleep thing is common, it seems like most people have major insomnia when getting off of drugs! I am an insomniac anyway, but what seems to help is hot baths before bed, melatonin or valerian root from the health food store, or even benadryl. Hope you hang in there - you didnt say much about your condition but hope you are able to stay off the patches!
