Fentynal & oxycoden WD

Hi, I am new here, but I have been reading the forums a ton this past week. Here is a little about me. This past march I was diagnosed with tongue cancer. Doc did biopsy, put me on Liquid Oxycoden. Well, I had surgery April, just finished up radiation 3 weeks ago. I have been on the Oxycoden for 5 1/2 months. 5 mg every 4 to 6 hours, but I used it every 2 hours. They also put me on fentynal 50 patches 2 months ago, I chaned them every 3 days. Well, this past Monday, I quit all cold turkey. Threw it all in garbage. Well the withdrawals have been terrible. This has been the worst week. Well, I mean 5 days. I have some questions, if you guys dont mind. How long will this all last? I am eating some now, Friday. I have not thrown up since wednesday. Took immodium today, and this also helped. But the chills I have, I cannot sleep... I get dizzy and light headed some. Plus I noticed I lost a lot of weight, will this all come back???? I will never use this crap again. No matter the pain, no more....... thank you all

After my treatments , radiation , etc I was on the fentynal patch and oxycoden, plus ativan. I was out of it. Peace

Thank you so much. I am sleeping maybe 2 to 3 hours. What is weird is, it takes a while to sleep. I fall asleep after 3 or 4 am . I go to bed around 11, toss and turn till 3 or 4.. I am eating better. Little energy...

P.S.  If you can manage it follow Lulu's instructions especially the dietary.  She is an incredibly savvy woman with excellent ideas.  She's advised me on a couple of things and has been spot on.  I'm hoping you are getting a little sleep tonight.  You should be able to start getting some 2-4 hour stretches of sleep now...and that will improve.

I'm SO sorry I was gone the last week sick because my hubby was on Fentanyl (ending up on 100 mg) and oxycodone 30 mg 5 times a day since last July.  Now mind you....he'd had 3 major surgeries so he needed them.  He had a friend at work who went CT on those Fentanyl Patches and said it was the worst he'd ever felt in his life for a good 2 weeks.

My hubby's doctor flat out told him in no way shape or form should be CT the patches.  He is now off the oxycodone completely and is down to 25 Fentanyl.  In a month or so they'll switch him to oral Opana and then wean him off of that.

In his case this is a necessity because CT could kill him....in your case you'll just feel like your dying.  But our friend survived and you will too.  Just hang in there....relief is coming.  I'm hoping that tonight you'll start getting a little sleep even if just a few hours.  It is also really important that at this point to make sure you start getting something good and healthy in your tummy and to stay as hydrated as possible.

If we go off of what our friend said you are over the halfway mark and that each day now should show a little improvement.  You can do it!!  I know you can!  Just keep busy, watch comedies (laughter really does help), have sex (it actually helps!), do some stretches, take a walk.  Anything that will distract you from that little voice in your head!

I'll be praying for you.
