Fiorinal w/codeine?

I just got back from the Dentist, I'm having some major issues with my TMJ/headaches/neck pain.  He prescribed me Fiorinal w/codeine, because I told him I did not want to be on Vicodin long term.  I don't want to go down that road again.  Can anyone tell me if they have an experience with this medication?  I'm a little worried because it has a barbituate in it, and I've never taken anything like that...

Any help is appreciated!

I've had some personal experience with vics, lortabs, and fiornal with codeine.  I personally find that the fiornal with codeine does not give me a "buzz" like the hydros yet still helps with the pain.  In that regard, I don't believe it's as "addictive" (at least for me).

well on one hand codeine is a weaker opiate than vicodin. I am assuming you only plan to take these as needed.. my mom's hubby takes these for neck pain. I took one once and it did not give me the buzz vicodin does.  I also have TMJ and I find my chiropractor and massage therapist  help me ALOT...  Its worth a shot.. also when I was able to go to acupucture that also helped..

Coedine is coedine. Coedine is an opiate. Welcome to the forum.
