It is a journey. Every day gets better, I can promise you that. Expect a good week or two to feel "normal" and what ever that means. Your body goes through a lot, mentally you go through a lot. Hang in there. Tylenol, vitamins, hot epson salt baths helped me a lot. You can do it! I am on week 4, trust me, I didn't think I would make it this far. My pain gets worse every day, but my determination gets stronger to make it another day
Congrats on day 4! ANd yes, a 4 hour trip out probably was very stressful and tiring! In my first week I only took the dog out for walks and was whooped after I did that! It does help to get outside though just do it in smaller increments! I did feel better after about 6 days and went back to work on my 7th. But it takes time! You can do this just keep pushing through! You really will feel better soon!!!! But it will take time to feel 100%! I still have minimal energy on some days and still feel nauseous some days but it passes!!! Take all the above suggestions from others and just keep hanging on!!! We are all routing for you!!!!
Thanks so much everyone for your support.
Hi well your in the jaws of it many say day 4 is the worst then day 5 is better but not much but anything counts when your doing this my savior has always been a hot soak it helps the shakes the chills the restless legs and anxiety if you have a deep tub will even sooth the stomach crams by equalizing the pressure from gas witch causes the cramps keep the tub 1/2 full then when it gets bad it is quick to warm up I took several a day if you can try short walks like around the block getting out in the sun helps but where sun glasses your eyes get very dilated coming off the pills and the sun will hurt them the best single thing you can do is try to keep a positive attitude everyone is uncomfortable but suffering is a choice try not to watch the clock it makes time slow down sleep is all but impossible dont fight it get some movies and watch them at night it will keep your mind off how rotten you feel I use to put some soft music on and lay on the sofa with a big blanket meditate or pray and it will slow your pulse down breath in and think relax and breath out with sleep you can get into a deep rest and this helps a lot you may even catch a cat nap here and there if your up post someone like yourself is usually up also and may be waiting to see if someone posts...keep pushing forward when your feeling a bit better look up n/a meeting in your area aftercare is critical you dont want to have to EVER do this again...........Gnarly
Thanks so much. Ya the shipping was almost impossible. Many times i had to just go sit in the car. They weren't done but I had my hubby dip me if at home. It was not a wise idea. I'm definitely staying hydrated as much as I can. Just pinning for some relief.
Day 4!!! You need to be very proud of yourself. Days 1 through 4 are terrible, terrible days and you've made it through them. Days 4 and probably 5 will still be tough but you can do it. When walking through hell don't stop just keep moving forward. I would say don't go shopping for 4 hours at least for the next several days. Your body needs rest. Its very good to get out and maybe get some sun. Go on short walks. I'm amazed that you went shopping for four hours. I couldn't have done this on my day 4. Anyway just make sure you are taking care of yourself. I'm sure you know but make sure you are staying hydrated. It will get a little bit better every day very soon. Great job and keep up the good work. God bless you. BD
Good question b/c everyone is different but usually i think the physical part starts to wean down around day 6/7...but remember, the physical is going to be the easy part (i know when people tried to tell me that i was like wtf???), but its true! Getting clean and staying clean are 2 different things. Right now just continue to take care of yourself....it wouldnt kill u to start looking into some form of aftercare???.
Thanks, any advice on how much longer until I start feeling a little better?
Yeah....i agree w/jfmoc....you are in the thick so u should be at the worst. Depending on how long u were taking opiates, everyone is different. Im quite impressed you went out in public for 4 hrs....i couldnt thats for sure. Keep trudging through that mud b/c it will get better. Try L-tyrosine from GNC....i found it helped if taken in a.m. on an empty stomach. Keep eating really healthy....this is a big thing! Drink, drink, drink, water, juice, health shakes, etc....
you will see the light soon enough....no quitting, forward motion ONLY!!!!!
Thanks. I'm still taking the hydroxyzine, rich doesn't help much at all, also I got a multi vitamin, vitamin d3, melatonin, and Aleve. I'm just ready for some of it to ease up.
Thanks. I'm still taking the hydroxyzine, but it doesn't help that much, I also bought a multi vitamin, vitamin d3, melatonin, and Aleve. Giving up is not an option. I'm just ready to start feeling a little better
So so so totally normal. Day 4- you are IN the thick of it. I remember adjusting my expectations, assuming I would feel like crap, then when I didn't, it was a relief. It will probably be a few more days of this. I am very very surprised if someone says they feel okay on day 3, 4, 5, 6. That's very unusual.
Detox is 2/3 mental, 1/3 physical. Expect to feel not good. Keep taking HOT baths etc. Hylands restless leg for RLS.
Read thru some of the posts where peeps were in agony and then how they feel better when passes. This will pass, that is a promise. Keep doing what you are doing, meaning not taking any pills. That is literally all you need to do right now:)
