Forever Doomed to Addiction?

I know alot of people with addictions trade them in for another when you give up one. How many has this happened to here? ANd what did you trade it to? Is there ever any escaping addiction?? I feel like I am forever condemned to a life of being controlled by these things. Cant they figure out how to interrupt those circuits in the brain? Some kinda of medicine that controls addiction? Wouldnt that be nice. And how ironic too, a drug to control addiction, lol. I seriously think I need shock therapy or a lobotomy to get past this, I really do. I get addicted to everything =(

I feel that way too!  No joke, I have thought, hmmm, I wonder if they still do shock therapy.
Really, though, I think the best way to get past it is through abstinence from drugs.  That is ALOT easier said than done but I have never heard anyone with lots of clean time say, wow, my life was so much better when I was on drugs.  No, everyone eventually seems happier without them!
