Gabapentin (Neurontin) for methadone withdrawls?

I've been scouring the internet for information about any medication that will help ease methadone withdraws. I've been on 20-30mg for almost 3 months, which I posted about earlier. I don't have anything to help get through this, but I found some gabapentin and have read from numerous sources can be a godsend for opiate w/d symptoms. Does anyone have any experience using this?

Congrats on 5 days. My last dose was this morning so I'm not feeling anything yet, I'm so glad I found this gabapentin I really think it's going to make this a lot easier to endure. I've read on countless forums now how it can help alleviate opiate withdrawal symptoms but nobody is really sure why.
