Getting off of methodone

I have been on methodone for about 6yrs. I tapered down & quit taking it 3wks. ago. I am still feeling horrible. I had one good day yesterday, but today I feel horrible again. Everytime I feel like I am starting to get better, it comes flooding back. I have felt like & have had the syptoms of a horrible flu for 3 wks. The difference with these flu like symtoms to the actual flu, is you can't sleep even when  you want to. I wake up with horrible headaches. Has anyone out there gone through this? If yes any advice? Thanks!!

I have been where you're at.I jumped off of methadone at 25 mgs over a year ago.At week 3,although I was feeling better then I did at week 1 and 2,I was still struggling. You will have some descent days followed by some rough ones, thats normal. It took me about 6 weeks to finally turn the corner.Just hang in there. It just takes time.Exercise helps alot.Look up the amino acid protocol in the health pages, top right.Congrats on 3 weeks, thats great!!!! Keep posting...All the best...Kim
