Getting off oxys

A pregnant woman asked me how to get off oxy's without having to take methadone. I have no idea but thought I would ask you all so I can tell her. she wants to do something asap so anything you can tell me will help. thanks

she should just talk to her doctor, she needs help and a life at risk, so have her talk to doctor

Please have her be totally honest with her OB doctor.  I do know she shouldnt go cold turkey off pills.  I hope she will do what is right for her and this baby.      sara

agree...this is umpin this person needs to discuss with her DR...all involved in the birth need to know the history..getting on a maintenence drug like methadone or sub is sumpin her ob.gyn needs to guide her on

I wouldn't feel comfortable in giving advice to someone that is pregnant as I'm sure there are some other measures that should be taken to keep the baby safe. It's great that she is wanting to get clean for her baby but think she should talk to her doctor about it. I'm sure someone will come along that has been in the same situation but if it was my wife and baby I would feel much better hearing the proper way from her obgyn just to be on the safe side.
