I have to agree....you are an addict my friend and your list of meds is quite extensive. Treating suboxone withdrawals (not paws) with methadone is NOT a good idea! If your truly ready to quit drugs you've come to the right place. There isnt much difference between methadone and suboxone when it comes to length of w/ds and how low of a dose you have to get to. Does your dr know your on all of these different meds because i would feel like im on a constant roller coaster.....is that the point? Are you ready to get all of this **** out your system?
Um, this has nothing to do w/ methadone. You are an addict who has not treated your addiction, it sounds, for a very long time. A person isn't addicted to alcohol "at one-time." You have some issues to face my friend. I would suggest rehab or outpatient and getting into aftercare asap. You have been substituting one substance for another after another after another. Your addict brain needs help. When you get help, your life will become manageable.
I have no experience with methadone but had an employee who used it to kick a heroin habit. It was a very long, very hard process for him to get off of the methadone. He didn't recommend it except for use in the case of the most hardcore of addicts.
From what I've read on here I'd stay as far from it as I could.
Before you make the decision to start methadone, wait until those familiar with it here can advise you. I have no experience with it, but from what I've read here it's one of the hardest things to kick. Have you discussed wanted to go off subs with the dr that prescribes your other meds? There's no easy way to detox. You'll go thru withdrawals whether you go off the subs, or you later have to detox off the methadone.
