Going cold turkey!!!
I thought I was gonna b able to taper to a lower dose b4 I go cold turkey,but due to some finacial problems Im not gonna b able to. Im on 200mgs of methadone and tomorow is my last day dosing. The clinic said theres not much they can do but are gonna try to get me a bed in detox n try making it as comfortable as posible.(but thats not for sure) So im prob gonna do this at home. Ive heard of vitamins,stayin hydrated and is it colodine? What else can help? And does that WITHDRAWLease they advertise on here work? Im pretty scared I went thru some wd last wk n it was horrible. N im not in the same shape I use to b,so hoping my body can take it. Any old remedies or lil tricks to fool the mind would b helpful. Thanx

I only did that cause i wanted to take the edge know it was dumb. Like i told aa friend today, the enemy puts these thoughts in ur head that usually wouldnt make sense but for sum reason u talk urself into it. It happened the other day w/ vodka, thank God i was awake n on point n kept driving lol. So no more taking the edge off. I know this is dangerous n i have to bring my a game! Thank u guys
N0 actually im on less bloodpressure meds. im only takeing 2 pills now. I cant figure it out. my readings today 115/60,109/65,108/63 yesterday 114/60,117/60,the thing is every time i dose about 1 to 2 hrs. i get drousy, and my bloodpressure goes down, with the chills. my doctor dont know why and the clinic dont know either. the doctor says bp is normal. but i never had readings this low before. my readings would always be 136/ 82 or so. i feel like im overdoseing i dont know how thats poss. but since the decrease ive been more sleepy. go figure, i wish i new. unless its withdrawls? and starting next week im decreasing to 5mgs a week i hope i can handle it. ponco if you got anything please let me know thank you and GOD BLESS YOU. ponco

ponco are you around? Im going down 5mgs starting next tues. that not dangerous of overdoseing is it?? im scared of this crap.
HI any time your adjusting your dose of methadone you usually will feel lousy for a day or 2 its not every time but most times usually after you go down 5mg is a lot more powerful then people think....if your sipping off your take homes that is addictive behavior time for a program like N/A to help you stop abusing your take homes its also dangerous methadone builds up in your blood stream for 3 days so each day your compounding whts in your system....alot of people have O/Ded on this stuff ......keep posting for suport good luck and God bless.........Gnarly
Yes my counsler is very support ive. Im actually at 195 I didnt get approved for the10 mg till they see what 5 does. But I dont take all my take home but im thinkinf its a bad idea cause sometimes ill take xtra later since I take less most of the time. I feel alot of axiety for sum reason my left arm is always restless. No sleep n a lil of what I call the creepy crawlies im sure u all know w+at that is. I have enuff meds till monday , im gonna go online n see if i can find sum side work for the weekend. Ill keep u guys posted:). Have a blessed day
I'm glad you've decided taper is the way. I tried for a couple years to ct at different times. Every time I had the time to try a detox, I was sick on the floor and always caved in. Forming a plan, taking the time needed, and having faith that I would get better made the difference for me. If you can get a protein drink high in amino acids, it will help speed up the healing. I know you don't have much $, but ensure or muscle milk has a lot of the nutrients your body needs to start healing your brain chemistry. Epsom salts in a bath as hot as you can stand it helps with the cramps and falling asleep.
So, do you have an idea of a taper schedule? Have you talked to the clinic about a plan or are they helpful? Not feeling 100%, what kind of symptoms are you having at 190mg?

Amen! Hey we're not perfect but at least u have ur eyes on the big prize. He will get us thru it.I I know im wd cause im not taken my full dose n dont feel 100% but its the best way to wd. Im glad u guys talked me into this God knows where id b right now. Thanx for ur support!!

Loving all the references from the bible!!! Seriously, I know the only way out of this hell weve been living in is by His Love and Grace. I've have been tapering down from a varied amt of methadone. Anywhere from 15-20 mg. I have been taking 5 mgs since the first of jan I actually feel really great!! I'm not gonna lie and say I havent slipped up a few days and taken an extra 2 mgs when I was stressing!!! But have been seeking His face and God is good and merciful.
He will go before us and make the crooked paths straight!! He said He will do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could even imagine or think of!!!!!
Can u even imagine all that God has in store for us.
Keep on keeping on guys. God will be with us every step of the way. We can do this and be free and not have to worry about when the next dose is coming!!! Put your trust in Him !! He will never let us down!

hi everyone thanks again for all your support!!! Just wanted to share a thought. It says in the bible that we were created in His image. And that he so loved the world that He sent His only Son. Now we all know how much Jesus suffured. And those who dont believe there was a real life person this happened to. Wether u believe he was the Christ thats a matter of opinon but His death is fact. I see us addicts w/ Christ like strength, we've been beaten down w this disease. Crucified by our actions and dead to that past life. Now is our turn to comeback to life from the death of addiction!!! We were given that power. Im not a preacher im a tattooed skinhead (not racist) with 25plus yrs of street life under my boot. And simply ran into the truth. No more lies or chaos. From punk rock vocalist to rising above my addiction n in time free of my own convictions! Nite friends remember united we'll stand divided...well ive never been good at math haha!!!
that's great. keep yourself moving. you need to eat so that is good you feel well enough. stay hydrated also. you need to keep up your strength. please continue on this taper. don't stop at this high of a dose again. it could be dangerous. drinking ensure, boost and protein shakes are also good.

Thanx man!!! And addiction is serious no matter how lil or how high the dose. There is diff btn 3 days n 3 months but dedicaton,support and faith are 3 things u can start with to destroy any demon any size!!! B strong brothrr we'll do this!!!!
Im not at my best but def not my worst. Ive been able to cook n eat today . I know it can b worst so im just greatful the Lord has blessed me w strength n a good support system (u guys). I thought i was forgotten but of course u have to give to receive to rule u must serve, blessed are those who mourn and suffering has purpose. Said the man who died n rose again ;)
