Glad you had a great thanksgiving! I think you made the right choice by staying home. There's no need in putting yourself in a difficult situation. I did see something at disneyworld that caught my attention. There was a sign on the wall that said " you can't run from your problems, ain't no place that far". I guess sooner or later we all will have to face our fears but I'm gonna try to avoid any triggers if I can. Hopefully one day I'll be able to handle whatever life throws at me. Just hang in there and take it one day at a time.
Thank you all for the advice! I really think its the caffeine. I had headaches from it before but I was like 15 at the time so its probably worse now that Im older.
I take all of your advice very seriously and if the treatment center gave that advice then I will follow it. Sometimes change is good but I dont want to do anything to jeaporodize my success so far. Thanks again!
And my small Thanksgiving was perfect. I cooked all morning and everything was done by 12. So we ate I cleaned up, swept and moped, did some laundry and put the kids down for a nap. It really was great. Im looking foward to Christmas now!
Hey there, thought you disappeared. So how was the small thanksgiving? I guess that if you are doing it for Christmas it must have worked. We skipped it all together.....lololol. We were thinking of going away for Christmas. Money is tight, or should I say non-existent right now, so we may not be able to. But we were thinking it would be better than me using again. And talk about triggers.....
Hope the headache clears up, I know when I over think things and don't get enough rest I get them pretty bad. Caffeine is a huge deal for me as well.
Hi Mama, I'm glad you put yourself and your family first for Thanksgiving! You are doing amazing!
As far as your headache it certainly could be related to caffein! I know when I try to decrease my caffein, I get a horrible headache! Of course the stress over the holiday doesn't help either! Take care of yourself, we miss you when you are away! All the best!
I have had migraines since I was 15 and the best thing for mine was always taking as hot a shower as I could stand and then lay in a dark room for a couple of hours. If that doesn't help you may want to see your doctor as it could also be high blood pressure. Good luck Mama!
An excellent treatment center I went to advised all of us, whether the alcoholic/addict or the healing codependent loved one of an addict to NOT make any major, life changing decisions until we had been recovering for at least one year. Relationships, moving, babies, etc. Just a thought~
You know I didnt even think about that...Were thinking about having another baby..Not sure if its the best thing right now but I have cut back on the caffeine. I feel better about the situation you know something positive to focus on but Ive been stressing about it a little lately. Maybe thats why to??
Have you changed your intake of caffeine recently? That's a biggie for headaches and they usually settle at the base of your head and upper neck.
