HALLUCINATIONS FROM WITHDRAWAL?

Im freakin out. Im having audible hallucinations, as well as visual ones. Lots of flashing lights, but theres no place they could come from. Im in day 6, its worse than i ever expected. I should of tapered. As for seeing things, any thoughts, ideas, reasons why? I slept this morning from 6am to 1pm. The hallucinations started hours ago. I see green laser lights shining around the room, flashe of white and red light, but i can never catch them directly. But they occur every 30 seconds or so. Im goin to clinic tomorrow

Casper,

I just got up for the day, having my coffee and see that you have 6 posts on the first page. the top 3 posts are yours. That tells me that you are in distress. If you are having hallucinations, please go to the ER. Do not wait until tomorrow. This is not normal as a symptom of withdrawal.

Stay within one post so members can follow and help you. Let us know how you are doing. Please go now!!!!!

I understand hallucinations and had a few myself...I know what you mean by the Lights.
This is not uncommon it seems to be happening a lot of other people they actually use clonidine for psychiatric care as well.
It comes With a large spectrum of side effects and hallucinations I couldn't even begin to explain there are so many...
the most interesting side effect is hearing voices a verbal hallucination.
I have been on clonidine 12 milligram for two years.
After reading about the side effects online I'm realizing I've had the side effects for a long period of time.
Hearing everyones  stories snapped me out of it I'm going to see my doctor tomorrow and ask him for something else.
The worst hallucination I've ever had is... I woke up in the middle of the night and my wife was standing by the bed in her wedding gown she started to move her arms as if she was worshipping God...As I was watching her I looked to see her laying beside me as I looked back at the beautiful figure of her it disappeared...I was left only with her sleeping real self... Suddenly there was
a black figure at the foot of my bed, it almost seems as if it creeped in as I was distracted... I looked at her I couldn't make out a face she put her hands on my legs when she did  this impulse went from my legs to my kidney area it was very cold and creepy.

I prayed about it i felt it was some sort of an unorganized evil somthing or other that my mind probably over exaggerated... It was a little much for one night i spent weeks thinking about it...=Clonidine I guess.

deffo know hallucinations can be part of WD's.  My ex had a huge benzo habit.  In UK you could get temazepam in a kind of soft capsule, ppl used to call them "wobbly eggs" or "wobblies".  They were like 50mg and some stronger.  My ex was taking loads.  He went to jail and no-one knew what was wrong with him (I read the prison medical reports), they basically implied he'd taken a hallucenegenic as they thought he was ON drugs, not WITHDRAWING from them.  Same goes 4 opiates.  But u need to get help, have u got family 2 help with your daughter?

Im at the end of day 6, and things were bad today... Wow, what a ride.  I think I may be calling in for my flight.

I wanted to drop an update for all those whove stuck by me these past 11 days. My mania is starting to subside, but the physical symptoms are still dibilitating. Im hollow, empty, void, like an empty shell that only feels the pain, tension and anxiety. My babysitter cant even sit in the same bed as me, due to the kicks, or RLS. The ER wouldnt give me anything for anxiety, their reasoning is logical, saying their just as addictive. Im gonna have to wait for my Klonopin refill. Im starting to lose hope in there being a light at the end of this hellish tunnel. 11 days, still in agony.

I've had visual hallucinations when I switched from oral baclofen to a baclofen pump but it was only one bad night, the second one. I was told I shouldn't have ANY withdrawl, had some for like five days.   If the hallucinations persist definitely see someone.

Wow, I never knew hallucinations were part of wds. I guess everyone's different. But I'm still really worried about you Casper. Didn't you pass out and hit your head too? I'm pretty sure thats not normal but I guess I could be wrong if I was wrong about hallucinations. I would say to see a doctor anyways, they will probably run some tests and make sure your going to be ok.

I have hallucinated before going c/t.  It's from not getting enough sleep.  You're mind starts to play tricks on you after a while.  If you don't sleep for days on end, for whatever reason, you will hallucinate.  I was having wicked night terrors too when I would get like a half hour.  I would wake up in a panic, dripping with sweat, freaking out about what just went through my mind.  Eventually it subsided though.  So uh...I guess my point is, try to get some sleep!

gnarly is right, if it is something like you suggested going on then you need help *right away*. But you won`t know whats really going on until you see a doctor. Don`t take a gamble on your life by putting this off any longer. Please go NOW Casper!! We care about you and wish you would listen to our advice.

Casper,

Vicky is right, you keep saying that your going to see a doctor but you keep putting it off. Please take all of our advice and go right away. You really need to be seen asap. Some of the symptoms you`ve been having are NOT typical wd symptoms. I felt like walking death but I never had hallucinations or passed out cold like you`ve had happen. There is something going on so PLEASE go. I`m glad you got a few hours sleep and wonder if your feeling any better? But even if you think your doing a bit better you still need medical attention right away. Let us know what the doctor says.

Since it's so hard to eat when you're at the peak of withdrawal, somebody on here at one point recommended those ensure drinks.  I thought it was a good idea.  You might want to try those to at least get something that's nutrient rich into your body.  Glad to hear you're hanging in there man.
