Thanks everyone!! I'm researching meetings/locations. I will keep you posted. Appreciate the support.
You can also check into AA. Once you start going to meetings you will become more comfortable and realize you are all there for the same reason. Let us know how it goes~
I agree with motye.....if you do see someone you know count your blessings you already know someone at the meeting and they are there for the same reason you are....no one is going to tell anyone one that they seen you there it is anonmus and part of going to the meetings is to get to know one another....over the years I have made some great friends and real friends that you can count on....just yesterday my starter went out in my car had to have it towed home and dident have time to fix it b/4 work there is a bus strike in phoenix so little to no buses I called up billy in the program and got a ride to work and this morning he is coming over to help me change the starter...like I sad real friends anyway try to get over the fear if you must go to a meeting in another town but remember this no one at a meeting is going to judge you and there is no shame in recovery.....step out of your comfort zone and get to a meeting it is the single best thing you can do for your recovery

I had the same issue in the beginning b/c of owning a business I was terrified I would see someone I knew. So I went to the n/a meetings in the next town over. After about 6 months 2 of my customers came into the same meetings. I then decided to go to meeting in my town and town over. If you run into people you know what can they say???? Really??? They're there for the same reason as you? I wouldn't let this be too much of a deciding factor for you as to where to go.
My fears were unwarranted and I love the support I get from my n/a group.
