Hello everyone!

You could say Im a closet user. If you looked at me you would never know im a drug addict. I have been taking perkocets for over a year now. Up to 20 a day. Im just sick of it!  waking up wanting them in the morning. Im sick of putting things off. Im sick of it all! I have the most amazing boyfriend that is very supportive, and im scared im gonna lose him if I dont stop this ****. I have already lost my bestfriend because of all of this. She said she lost me along time ago.   Im ready to get back on track!!  How will I feel at work when going through all of this? Im a hair designer, at a very upscale salon.  Someone help me please! Im scared but so ready to do this!

Welcome, you are in the right place! Many of us got into a pill addiction via a real injury or pain, but the truth is, (to me) whether you are a professional pill popper like I was, or an addict on the street, its the same disease and the same whittling away at your soul and everything you hold dear.
Go through and read posts and journals and you will see that you are totally NOT alone.
20 percs a day is about double what I was taking but I was well on my way to as many as I could get. I stopped a bit over 30 days ago. You can do it too, but its hard. You HAVE to want it. It's much better than chasing pills and worrying about when you will run out. I hated that ****.
As for your bestfriend, if you get clean I bet you get her back, and if not, then at least you wont keep loosing people you care for. This addiction stuff just keeps making you take bad choices over good, anything for more more more more.
UGH. Sorry. I just know how you feel. It wont be easy but it will be worth it. Look under the Health pages at the top of this page and read the Thomas recipe and other tips. We are here for you. KEEP POSTING.
Take care and hang tough.
Peace~

Its good to hear you are ready to stop and get your life back. It will be the most amazing feeling when you are on track and drug free!! It is hard work and it takes determination, which you seem to have. There are tapers, or cold turkey for options. Have you thought of which would work best for you? You will need t check out the Thomas Recipe to help the withdrawal symptoms and get on the vitamins. It helps a ton. I wish you the best of luck. You can do this and welcome to the forum.
