Sneezing, coughing - I found nothing really worked during the first few days. It just sucked! I was still up 3 times last night and Im only ending day 3. Symptoms are A-Z i have found and again, ending day 3. What next, right? It's hard but if I can get through day 3, you can make day 2 - keep going and keep posting. You have my email too friend.
I sneeze as well when I am in WD's, this is actually the first sign to me that it is all about to hit because when I am using I NEVER sneeze even if I try, as soon as it starts coming out of my system i can walk outside and start sneezing everytime....I wish that was the worst symptom though.
Another strange wd I noticed with my AH is yawning. This is one of the ways I know that he is starting to run low or is out of pills.
I did not sneeze for the last 5 years or so while using, maybe once or twice a year. After stopping the Oxy, I began sneezing all the time. My record is 13 sneezes in a row. My son thinks is nuts and it is. I guess the senses finaly opening up is behind the sneezing, but not sure. As far the sleep issues, I went 10 days with zero sleep, and finally had the dr. give me 12 Lunesta's which seemed to help break the cycle. I hated taking it but it did help. After the cycle was broken, slept like a baby, sometimes going to bed at 6 pm and sleeping through the night.
I was going to post the same question! I am day five of WD. I keep sneezing too, three in a row! Crazy. I also haven't slept more than five hours for the past three days. I had only two 50 minute sleep episodes last night. I went to the pharmacy this morning and bought Melatonin. I hope it helps, I think eventually my body will just quit and I will sleep. I can't take much more lack of sleep. Good luck to you too!
I think it was FDR who said “We have nothing to fear but fear its self “ this will get better and sooner than you may expect.
Try meditating, go in your mind to somewhere beautiful, a place or a happy time in your life. Keep this thought alive and spend some time there.
If you cant sleep get up and do something to distract yourself and get your mind into a calm place then try to sleep. don’t know about the sneezing but your body systems are going to be all out of whack. don’t forget what got you here, don’t substitute one addictive drug with another be careful.
Yes!!!!! I hate the sneezing! It's been 10 days for me now cold turkey and I'm still sneezing every now and then. For help with sleep, I used Calm Forte. It's a herbal sleep aid. (I wanted to make sure I didn't take any type of drug) I also used sleepy time tea at night right before bed. Worked for me. Good luck!!!
no criticism from me! :) I hadn't even read your post when I posted mine. And, yes, I agree with you about benadryl :)
I didn't mean benadryl was a "sleep aid", but it makes you very drowsy and works better than many actual sleep aids. I'm in the med field, and know that's the best bet for many people. Sorry to not be specific. :)
yes, sneezing is a symptom for many (myself included), but, like all other physical symptoms, will go away before long. Benadryl is a good OTC sleep aid- it's the anti-histamine in Nyquil that puts you to sleep anyway, but Nyquil has a lot of other stuff in it that you don't need (be especially careful of the tylenol, since it is the same liver-damaging ingredient in the narcotic pain meds). For the first few nights, I took 1 benadryl before going to bed, and another half-way through the night. However, it may still be difficult to sleep for awhile, but that is normal. Congrats on deciding to quit!
Hey! Yes, sneezing is a symptom, so don't worry. Try any OTC sleep aid. Including benadryl, that usually helps. But it will be hard to rest no matter what. So keep that in mind.
Good luck!
