Help with Chloral Hydrate

I have had debilitating insomnia for about 5 years now. Just last week I was put on a STRONG medication called Chloral Hydrate. I don't care if you are over 700Ibs, if you take one eye drop of this medication it will knock you OUT! So I of course got my sleeping pattern regulated and was able to sleep completely through the night. So I tried to stop taking it and I started feeling sick. So I started taking it again. Now I have to take more then prescribed for it to work. I think I am building up a tollerance to it. I really don't like taking this medication any more, I can't live with it and I can't live without it. I also read on the internet that this was the medication that Anna Nicole Smith overdosed on. That scares me..... Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated

It's an old drug that used to be called the Mickey Finn. I have taken it in the hospital for detox  but never heard of it used much these days. It's very strong and sorry to say don't know to get off of it .

I was gonna say that was the supposed trigger drug that killed Anna Nicole on her cocktail of drugs she was using but I see you already know that.. I wish I could help you more, but I honestly do not know anything about chloralhydrate detoxing. Maybe someone here will wake up soon and be able to help you out. wishing you the best.
