Help with vicodin addiction

Hello all,

I was wondering about how long it takes to get over the withdrawal syptoms.  I've been taking vicodin for around 2 years now due to a motor vehicle accident.  Everything started out fine but alas i'm not addicted to the pills and want to ween myself off or go cold turkey.  I know the paltry 6 vicodin i take a day is like a little girl crying cause i scratched my knee compaired to some of you guys but alas an addict is an addict is an addict.  I took my last one about 2 days ago and i'm just now starting to feel crappy.  Any help would be appreciated.

What most vicodin lovers do not realize is that the physical part that lasts about 4 days is NOTHING compared to the journey ahead...  the emotional and mental part is by far the hardest part.  There has been MANY times where I quit and at day 10, I was like "YES, i feel perfect.. I'm off of vicodin"   then day 15 rolls around and I start feeling bored and like i "Need" something so I start thinking bout vicodin again and it's only been day 15.. I just take ONE and boom!!  it's on!  I go thru it again..   I'm telling you, just be strong and have a goal to get to month 2, that way you won't crave it as much at month 2.

Congrat's on getting clean.  Your right addiction is addiction doesn't matter how many. Withdrawals usually last 5-7 days. Depression and lack of energy can hang on a little longer, so be patient with yourself. Keep reading and posting. This forum is a life saver.
