Here I go again...

Hello Everyone,

I have had a pretty heavy Oxycodone (Percocet 30mg) addiction for about 6 months now which is really spiraling out of control fast.  I was to the point, as of yesterday (until I ran out) where I was taking up to 8-10 a day.  Started out about 5 years ago with 5mg Hydrocodone or Vicodin to the lay person.  That addiction began and eventually turned into 7.5mg Hydrocodone, in excess and in excess and in excess until the point I stand today where I'm washing down 60mg of Percocet with my morning coffee just to avoid getting sick.  Today, being day 1 clean (as my last Percocet was taken around 4:00PM yesterday), I figured I'd post because this now as this is the eye of the storm as I recall.  Tomorrow and the following 3 or 4 days, I probably won't even be getting out of bed except to vomit.  I'm on vacation from work starting today until after Thanksgiving so I figured this would be a good time to try and do this once and for all.  My dealer informed me that he is no longer f**king around with beans anymore, selling or taking, and as my 30 day supply of legal Hydrocodone @ 2 7.5's / day isn't even enough to get me "normal," I'll go through those in 4 or 5 days as opposed to the 30 days they are supposed to last.  I'm sick of this addiction dictating my life, my relationships, my finances and everything.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.  I'll probably be out of commission for 2 or 3 days but hope to post again by the weekend.  Thanks!

Yes it does get better with time but never leaves...addictions sit in the back of our head and that is why aftercare is important.  We need to leave the beast alone and we need to know how to handle the beast when he stirs.......Keep posting and let us know how you are doing          sara

Thanks for your reply Sarah.  I've been drinking as much regular water as possible, Poland Spring and tap to try and cleanse or purge of much of the chemicals as quickly as possible as I can.  I haven't looked into any supplements as of yet but definitely will do so.  As far as after care, if I understand you right, I have lots of friends that wanna see me overcome this, these being people that are not in recovery and have never messed with this stuff.  Going to try and take it one day at a time, and hope for the best.  Just out of curiosity, I'm more concerned with the longer term mental w/d than the shorter term physical, does it ever get better?  Thanks.

Sounds like you have a plan and have some time to do this.  Make sure you drink plenty of fluids like gatorade or vitamin water. Take hot showers or baths if you are achy and try and get up and move around as much as you can.  Are you taking any type of supplements?  The amino acids are very helpful and you can find those in the health pages on the right hand side of the page. Do you have any aftercare plans?  That is very important.  Keep us posted on how you are doing......You can do this!!       sara
