I know it's been a long time since anyone has posted in this thread, but I just wanted to add that I am in the same exact boat as you with the fibromyalgia and lortabs. They started me on neurontin and it's helping me tremendously-I'm quite surprised at how much better I feel at only 100 mg/day. So, I know that tapering the lortabs are in my immediate future. I'm scared of the w/d too, but know it needs to be done. I'm hoping my doctor is compassionate when it comes to cooperating with me, because I need another script to taper. I hope you had good luck with yours!
I think with the plan you have the w/d won't be to bad. I am on day 9 from 12 yrs of morphine and your current dose of hydro not per day but per extra dose. It has been hard for me but I think the amount you are taking it might be a bad 3 to 4 days and all good from there. Day 9 and feeling great. You can do it just suck it up and go for it.
22-30 mg per day is not really a huge amount to overcome. Just PLAN your taper. I would want to be left alone for a week. Good Luck.
Gl hun...and we are here if you need to talk...stay strong and as busy as possible...
If you taper, then when you run out the w/ds will be less. They are like a really bad flu. You can endure it. Good luck.
I'm more worried of the withdrawal than the pain. I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I've put myself in this box-I took the pain pills knowing I could get addicted. Well, now I am and I've decided sobriety is more important than the pain. Hopefully I remember that in a few days...
good luck to you with your taper, and remember STAY STRONG, you can get there if this is truly what you want.
have you thought about your pain issue when you are off the hydros? i have fibro too, and have thought about either lyrica or neurontin, my doctor mentioned them to me and they are non-addictive, i need to do more research first. keep posting, you will get the support you need!
