Hi, starting long term subutex treatment for opiate addiction

Hi, I have been in and out of treatment centers since age 15 ( first depression, then drugs etc) I had been taking percocet and suddenly I am getting my life together. Got into a vetrinary technology school and an apartment. I am on paxil which seems tobe helping depression anxiety. I knowsubutex is supposed to have benefits of taking away body pain and then I switch to suboxon so I can't get high, just still feel okay about myself and life. Psychiatrist thinks it is good idea, I function so well on the opiates...I thinkj its because I am not in to much pain to move. I am worried about why I am so speedy on it? The doctor stared me at 4mg morning and night. I feel good and then get sweaty, anxiety ridden and akathesic. not kidding, the other day I just stayed on the treadmill for 20 extra minutes just to see if I could tire myself out enough to sleep...didn't work though. I am feeling okay now after taking it 1 hr ago. I'm confused why it first mellows me out then speeds me up. The other night I started seeing double after taking the 4mg tab 6 hours earlier. That scared me alot. I have had a constant headache that started after I stopped the percocet for 12 hours and now is continuing on the subutext. Anybody been on subutex and have had a similar speedy reaction, or double vision ?

Hi. I have no idea how to get on methadone. The suboxine does help I had highest honors at school. I'm in airport afraid to drive back to my apt.3 kids have adopted me as mom

I would rather see you use methadone instead of sub for "replacement " or "harm reduction" therapy as it's called(methadone maintenence or long term sub). Methadone is a much better pain med and satisfys drug hunger better for the hard core addict I feel. all the best

Y off perc, Dr switched me to the actual  suboxone today. Thanks sooo much for responding. My Dr is starting me at 8mg. I feel very different,way foggy in my head.prob from not sleeping the last 4 nigts. I don't think my dr really knows what he is doing,I( am moving to colorado this month, then go to a friends wedding in germany then I am looking for a new dr in colorado). Wow I hope you feel better than I do today. I am feeling like everything is taking solong to write Did you ever see double, it's happened to me2xandiskindve freaskingme out!

I am having a hard time understanding this. Are you now off of the Percocets and on Subutex?

If that is what you are asking about then yes, it can have those side effects. I had terrible headaches on Suboxone and dizziness for the first few days and after speaking with my doctor we adjusted the dose.

If this continues I suggest that you phone your doctor and have him decide what is best.
