Hello Everyone,
Had my surgery yesterday on my foot. I had to stop my Suboxone 3 days prior to surgery to be able to be put to sleep and have 2 days of pain meds (which is all I felt safe taking). Last night after the block wore off, I was in terrible pain. I took the Vicodin put ice and rested, finally within the hour, I was able to get the pain under control. I have been able to keep the pain under control since then. Only 2 pain pills so far. My husband is controlling them so I don't have access. I am not having any thoughts of using. I plan on going to a meeting tonight. All is going well.
The day before the surgery, I was at work trying to get everything done and started to have anxiety attack with nausea. I had to go home for a couple of hours and then when I got back, my the manager over my manager came over and gave me a great "pep" talk and made me feel better. My work and family has been so very supportive for this surgery. I am truelly thankful that I am in recovery, because if I was not, then I would not be able to have the support necessary for me as an addict to get through something like this.
I just wanted to post an update to all of my friends out there that knew how nervous I was for the surgery.
