THank you for asking. I am just really depressed.  I have clinical depression to begin with and I think these pills just made it worse. If you read above I explained to Motye51 how it began.  How long will this last. I feel like jumping off of a bridge (I wont though)

It will go away I promise hang in there unless u have a depression issue unrelated to the wd.  I've been using 8yrs got clean a few times n had the same issue but eventually u come back around just will never kick craving n that is what u have to manage with addiction which is harder than the withdrawal.  Try a Tylenol wit codine or a low level vicodine may help level u out without ruining ur progress so far. But yeah this is the life mama either gotta take it as part the game n say **** it or use it to get\stay clean

I am sorry your so depressed.  Are you under a doctors care for your depression?  Are you on any medications? Everyone is different when coming off of opiates. I know that's probably not what you want to hear. I personally would go to your doctor for help for the depression and the detox.  You should be proud of yourself for going five days that is awesome.  Are you sleeping at all?  Sleep deprivation is very prevalent during this time which only adds to the depression IMO.  I believe you will be okay you just have to be okay with not being okay for awhile.  Keep posting your journey.  Sending good vibes your way..........peace.

I think the length and severity of your withdrawal is determined by how much and how long you were using.  The tiredness and lack of motivation is TOTALLY NORMAL with opiate w/d.  Try to take some really good multivitamins with potassium and iron.  Magnesium as well.  Eat healthy and drink lots of water.  Just ride it out....it will get better!

I had been addicted to vicodan for 6 years.  Went into the hospital to get off. I never had withdraw because they gave me catapress. The vicodan was prescribed for me for a herniated disc in my neck.  REcentlhy I was prescribed Tylenol with codeine for a dislocated shoulder which started me seeking codeine.  Its only been 5 months but these pills are evil!!!!  This is day 5 and I'm crying my eyes out every day.  How long will this last????  I am mildly ill but just headache and slight flu like symptoms
Btw it was dec of 2014 i was in the hospital and it was just 5 months ago that i started with the Tylenol with codeine.
Everything your describing is right on point with codeine withdrawals.  Flu like symptoms, lethargy, depression, mood swings (huge mood swings), stomach issues, etc....  We all went through it or were going through it when we got here.  At this point, as long as you still haven't used, there are things you can do to help you to feel better through this process.  One that I highly recommend is hot Epsom salt baths....as many as you want....Good vitamins along with vitamin C.  One thing I found that helped my "mood" during this process was listening to music, for sure!!!  I would get in the epsom salt bathes with my ear plugs in and that did give me some relief.  Also, comedy....My daughter had me watch stand up routines of comics....anything to force me to laugh.  It makes a chemical in your brain release when you laugh.  A chemical that is REALLY SLOW to release right now b/c your going through w/d.  I hope your sticking it out, b/c I do know, there is another side to it.  You just have to get there!  Good luck to you....
