How do I talk to my dr tomorrow

I am going to see my dr tomorrow to ask him for help. Last month he put me on opana 20 mg twice a day. I was on norco 10/325 1 pill 4 times a day. I do not like the opana. I have had a headache since being put on it. I really want to get off the pills. I would like to be put back on the norco and ask him to give me a taper plan. How do I go about doing this? I don't think asking him straight out for norco would be a good idea. I need some advice on how to talk to him and what to say. I'm afraid that if I tell him I buy other narcotics on the street he will cut me off tomorrow and not help me. Does anyone have any advice?

I would be truthful with him and tell him the opana is giving you headaches.  Let him know you would like to try the norco again and taper off all the meds to see if the pain gets better.  Do you have someone that could hold the pills and help you taper down?  Cutting off the outside suppliers is going to be a must too.

I agree with sarah, you have to be straight up honest to your doctor. I am tapering off Valium at the moment and again i have to agree with sarah that you have to cut off your outside supply. As soon as my doctor started tapering me off valium i have moved in with my parents so i am surrounded with family who care and have distanced myself from where i used to get my valium.

Hope it goes well for you 2morrow

Yep...be honest with him. People react to meds differently, and he's probably been approached hundreds of time about changing meds. If he's a good doc, he'll be impressed that you are looking to stop the meds, so should have no problem putting you back on Norco and starting a tapering program.
And listen to Sarah - most of us don't have the ability to taper. If there are pills in the bottle, they will be consumed. You have to have someone who will hold your pills, and then give you them as per your taper program.
Now, having said all that about honesty, I don't think that you should mention that you've got meds from dealers. If you truly plan to taper and then quit, put that part of your life behind you. In fact, if you want to get and stay clean, you have to cut all ties to your sources. If you don't, you will have a hard time dealing with the temptation.
