How long before I loose the weight I have gained on methadone?!

I was on methadone for a little over 2 years in that time I gained 80lb. I got up to 115 "therapeutic" level and tapered at 3 mg a week for my entire taper, all the way down to 1mg. While tapering I lost about 30 lb, but it'd been weeks since I've lost anymore. I have successfully detoxed off and have been off done for 10 days now. I want this weight off! Im 5'3 and always been about 120 and I have 50lb to go to get back to normal. I hate myself and how I look. How much longer till its all off?!

Congrats on your 10 days, keep at it, weight just doesnt come off tho, you have to diet and exercise to lose it. ive been off of methadone for 8 months , i hit the gym 6 days a week and started eating healthy, its very hard to shed those extra pounds ,but just like over coming your addiction to methadone you can do it , just takes work .

However long it took you to get to the place you are now, that is what you should expect to get back to were you were. If you walk 3 days in the forest, it's gonna take you 3 days to get out! Actually, it's half that time and  being being patient is part of living sober! Not being patient has gotten us where we are today!
