How long do vicodin withdrawals last for?

I am coming up on day 4 (96hrs) since last meds.  Does anyone know how long this lasts?  I  have not slept a wink in 3 straight nights, my legs still feel like they are sparking, and I am having major anxiety.  Oh I have no appetite bit the runs are gone.

You're on day 3 and that's great.  Please, don't cave, you're right in the thick of it now and only need to wait a few more days until you're feeling a little better.  If you take anything again now, you'll be starting this whole process all over.  Please don't do that.  :)

Welcome to the forum!    You are posting on a pretty old thread and will probably get a lot more help and info from others if you hit the orange post a question box and start a new thread.  It will be your question, and all the answers in your thread will be directed to you and your question.

Hydrocodone was my doc (drug of choice).  My w/drawals were different from some because I didn't have a clue about opiate w/drawals, and went on subutex/suboxone for a 28 day period to get off the pills.  I would NOT
do that today, now that I am clean, clearer headed, and have learned a lot from this website.  I was already 55 days clean when I found this site.

There are health pages in the bottom r.h. corner and you can click your way thru them and learn a lot about w/drawals, what to expect (generally speaking) how long certain things last and what you can take otc to help you get thru it.  Most people say that after 5 days they see huge improvements.  Don't hold up that drug store yet LOL!  I know exactly how you feel......but I promise.....it will get better.
Hope you'll try posting a new question for support and keep on keepin on~
P.S.  It's pretty conclusive you are a Doors fan huh?  LOL

I'm about to begin day 3 without Vicodin (I was raking 14-16 tabs a day)...my cravings are strong & the restless legs & muscle cramps are the worst...I hear after day 4 the physical symptoms will subside but I've seriously thought about holding up a drug store to get more pills :) I'm a addict, and I know I can make it 2 more days...at least I hope...is it true the physical symptoms go away after day 4??? I'm a physician...I can loose my family & career if I don't get clean

I just posted my reply from yesterday.  I was so sacked out from the WDs that I guess I did not sent it. That what 4 nights with zero sleep will do.  Well I am 6 days clean. I did not use any drugs to get through. I just sucked it up and it was crazy!   I never will do that again!  Last night was the worst at 5 days.  I could not sleep again an had the craziest arm twiches.   Then low and behold the last time I saw the clock it was 413 then I must have shut down.  I woke up to my alarm at 830 tires as heck an ha to rush to work. I LOVED BEING TIRED IN THE AM FOR ONCE   It meant to me that I would sleep tonight. I hope.  But at lunch I hit my car and slept for 45 min   I am so relieved.  I guess with WDs it is truely 5 to 7 days.  As much as I was Hoping for 2. Well I am glad I endured it because it taught me a huge lession.  I will not repeat it ever

Thx so much for the replies!  I will have completed day five at 642p to tonight.  I worked today and had a couple of narcoleptic moments but in general I faired way better.  At 436a this am I was thinking I am gunna die but I sucked it up and went to the gym.  I ate my first meal today and I was good. Before that I had not really injested anything but bananas and water.  Every once in a while a wave of that crappy feeling rolls through today back if feels more from lack of sleep. My shoulders, arms and legs are twitching too.  But not lime they were. Overall things are looking up thx again

You really are about to turn a major corner if you haven't already!  Pat yourself on the back for a job well done so far!  The anxiety was always my major downfall as I have that even without WD or opiate pills.  I know for me there was nothing that ever helped me with anxiety, no words from a kind person ever made it better, I just had to ride it out.  I am taking celexa for it now and it has helped more then I would have imagined.  Is anxiety a problem you have had before?  I know it is one of the most hopeless feelings I have had and when I would be in WD, OMG, I don't know how I never did something stupid.  That said, please don't go back to the pills, in the long run, it will make it much worse.  On the bright side, you have done something so far many of us can't do without the help of meds.  I am a person who no longer can WD without help from meds.  I have been on subx for a few days, if I didn't get on it I would have done something crazy to get pills.  I may be dead or in jail right now.  That goes to show you how crazy this addiction can make a person.  I am not a mean or violent person but my addicted brain is.  Be proud of quitting and how long you have made it.  I'm rooting for you to stay clean.

My bf is on day 2 with no vicodin and hes having difficulty with sleep. He didnt fall asleep until 8am and didnt sleep very well after he did fall asleep. He says thats the worst part of it all, being tired but not being able to sleep.

I withdrew from xanax last year and i didnt sleep for about 72hours...maybe more. All the hours seemed to blend together. But finally after 3 or 4 sleepless nights my body finally just gave in and went to sleep so id imagine you're going to slowly but surely start getting some more sleep soon. Good luck :)

I hear ya sister!!  That sleep is a nasty one i'm a little ahead of you but everyone here says it will come.  Hve you taken the herbals for the anxiety?  Valerian root and melatonin?  They are life savers for me.  Try drinking some tonic water with quinine for the legs, world of difference, they old doctors used to px's quinine for leg tremors and worked wonders for my mom.  Check out the post i did last and everyone posted help for your question as i asked pretty much the same sleep question.  Hang in there!!! Your doing great and remember there is light at the end of the tunnel!
