Hydrocodone Withdrawls-What to expect

I have been taking Hydrocodone for about 5 years now. Started with 2-3 a day and stopped at 16-18 a day. I have cut down to 4-6 a day and am on the 3rd day. I have been soooo nauseated and had a general feeling of discomfort since then. I don't know what to do...I am taking Phenergan for nausea and half of a 0.25mg Xanax for anxiety. The Xanax seems to help but I don't know how much longer this will last. When will I start to improve? I don't really have any cravings for the pills. I took 5 10/325mg pills Monday night and got so sick I was vomiting so I decided Thursday to stop taking so many of them. Will I start to feel better any time soon or do I have a while?

I agree with IBK..all you are doing is dragging this out.  Look in the health pages and check out the amino acids.  There are things you can do to help with the wd's.         sara

So the answer is no, you have not stopped. You will continue with the withdrawal until you stop. Once you stop it will be about 5 or 6 more days. the longer you drag this out, the worse it will be for you.

Yes, I have cut down from 16-18 a day to 6-8 a day. Today is my third day doing this. I was just wondering if the worse part of withdrawals are almost over? Yesterday was by far the worse day. I plan to cut down again in a few days until I am completely pill free. Is this a smart way to quit?

Have you stopped the Hydrocodone altogether? Sorry, I am confused.
