Hydrocodone addiction?

My question is this...I've been on 60mg of hydrocodone a day for 5 years now. They are doctor prescribed, but lately I've been trying to cut down. Every time I do, for instance, take 2 a day, my legs ache intensely and I'm sooo fatigued. If I go 12 hours without one, the pain is so bad, I have to take one. I'm not sure if this is WD or has something to do with my other diagnosis. What are the average WD symptoms for going without lortab?

yes fatigue and the leg aches are a big sympton of withdrawl and will go away over time...the reason why your 2 pills arent working is because your building up a tolerance to them...Plus every time you try to detox off of the pills your body tries to heal itself so if you take any pills after that, they wont do anything to you. I was taking over 15 norcos a day and if i had oxy i would do about 120-150 mlgs of that a day....im now 2 weeks clean and my legs dont ache no more but i still feel some fatigue, usually these symptons can last for weeks and in the WORST case months...You should talk to your doctor if you can and he can medicate and taper you down but its going to take alot of will and effort...just know your going to prolly be going through one of the hardest things in your life...i know for me that this was by far the hardest thing for me to do..i went c/t!!! so there is hope..you came to the right place on getting advice this place is great just keep posting keep us updated and the best of luck to you!!!

Going up and down with the pain meds can make you feel fatigued and have leg aches.  I hope you get to the bottom of this as feeling that way is no fun.....all the best  sara

I'm on a lot of medications. Chronic fatigue has been an issue for over a year. I was just wondering if maybe it had something to do with going up and down with the Lortabs. Should taking them make your WD symptoms go away? See, I feel that if the leg aches, pain, and fatigue won't go away when I'm on them, then there really is an underlying issue, you know? I kinda' just wanted to be sure, and see what you guys thought.

Sounds like wd to me too.  If you are concerned about the pain and fatigue i would get ahold of your doctor and tell him what is going on.  Are you taking anything else?

The thing is, if my legs ache and I take 1 or 2, the pain doesn't go away anymore. Is cutting down going to cause them to ache until I'm totally off? Or should tapering keep the the symptoms to a minimum? I'm a little confused because I've been diagnosed with something else, and I'm not sure if the leg aches are due to that or cutting down on Lortab. Like I said, the pain and fatigue doesn't go away anymore, even if I take them. Just want your opinion. Thanks.

Withdrawals usually start anywhere from 12 to 24 hours with my experience. The symptoms include fatigue, muscle/body aches, severe flu like symptoms, chills, sweating, stomache pains, diarhea, watery eyes, runny nose, yawning, panic attacks/anxiety, insomnia. Im sure I missed a few, but that is what I would get. You havent been on a high dose but you have been on it for a long time so you will definately have some WD's when cutting back.

I was reading the posts and saw L-Tyrosine and Hyland's Restful Legs. I will definitely try them. Thank you for your input.
