Day 3 of tapering down from 10-10mg Hydros to 5 and now 3. Feeling like crap and in pain from the injury that got me in to this mess. Feeling the urge to cheat my regimented plan. Have to say that having a spouse with a safe is a huge help in that regard. Frustrating part is the pills no longer work on my pain especially at lower doses. Any idea on how long it takes before meds will work again at lower doses? So glad I found this forums. Helps to know I am not alone in this process.
That is just what I'm trying to prevent. I've been through this before with injuries but have always got to the other side of the pain before giving up the meds. Fortunately I have nothing to do this week and my girlfriend is being very supportive and locking the script up in a safe every morning. I'm a recovering alcoholic and have had to quit other substances before so at least I know I can do it. Feel like I'm waiting for a hurricane with a pizza box over my head. Bejeebus....
With one more waiting thats even better to start the process now. If you dont start now then on the last day of your last refill, about 4 yours after your last pill will be a real nightmare.
Im sure youve felt a certain degree going from 8 to one but that day im taking about you dont want to experience.
Thanks for the comment. This isn't actually my last script as I have one last refill to go but I want to get this under control so I am only using the drugs as needed for pain. With a business trip coming up in another country I am hoping to get through this before I leave. It's my first day in having only taken 1 10mg Hydrocodone so far. My goal is to be at 2 per day by the end of the week. Not sure if that is reasonable but going to try.
Hi we cant give any dose suggestions but you have the key in your hand if you want to taper. Use this last script as a tool to get you off them. realize this is the last one you will get.
The trick here is to lesson the amount in your body. The first 2 days will take real effort but then you will feel less dependant but you have to try.
