I am addicted to hydrocodone

I have decided i am addicted to hydro/Tylenol.  My doctor prescribed this medication about two years now.  At first it was such a cure to my pain.  I have two bulging disks in my back one in my neck.  anyway it was a miracle drug.  But now after my prescription is taken i look for other ways to finding the drug.  I take anywhere from 8 to14, 10/325 (nor co)  or any other hydro i can find.  I feel like i am slowly killing myself.  I feel like my children and husband know i have this problem, but they don't want to admit to it.  Help me please.  I need some advice on how to withdraw. as comfortably as possible, if there is a more comfortable way!!  Anyway today i have taken four, i am now out.  I don't want to find anymore.  I want to be through with them.

u r at a dose where u can choose CT or a taper...tapers are hard for true addicts cos we cheat constantly and ruin the purpose of tapering...can u hand ur pills over to someone u trust?  if u can not i would consider CT when u have 4-5 days of downtime...would be glad to help u with a taper..keep posting

I went cold turkey off of 140 mg of hydro a day back in May and I went through some tuff w/d's for about 2 weeks. The first week my body hurt so I couldn't sleep, then the 2nd week I felt like I had ADHD mind and couldn't sleep. It is hard to say how long or how bad because from what I have learned everyone is different.I would get as many comfort meds as you can, imodium, tylenol pm,epson salt, muscle cream drink tons of water eat as well as you can,get up and move around eveen if you feel like you can't.I also found that icey hot sleeves (walmart)on my arms and legs at night helped with the rls.If you can't go cold turkey then you can try to taper off the med.I wish you all the luck in the worl and hope you feel better soon.Whatever you go through it is all worth it in the end.You can do it.

I have been in your shoes,

You are not alone, everyone on this site has been where you are at
now...From the amount that you said you where taking your withdrawls
should not be that bad.  Yes there will be some discomfort.  I suggest
that you check out the health pages to right of this site.  The Thomas reciepe
is a great help, also try some of the amino acids and b-12 for energy.

You will feel like you have the flu (and that is what you can tell
your family)  it should only last about a week, the worst will be around
day 3 to 5 after that it will get better every day..Some people have very little
effects of withdrawls so maybe you will be one of the lucky ones.

But I can say that the sooner you start the sooner you will be over it.

AND IT IS SO WORTH IT TO HAVE YOU LIFE BACK..

Also you can post on here 24hrs a day and everyone will support
you and give you the strenght you need.

You are taking the right step, now just get the supplys you'll
need and get some great movies and just do it.  I found that chicken
soup, apple sauce and coke helped my stomach and also try
Ammoidum D for the stomach issues.

Hang in there
