...no need to explain...I completely understand and know that's what one needs to do with Rick because he IS so stubborn. Ash probably had to knock him out to get him to the ER!!

Glad you got a "concrete" diagnosis!  Push the fluids and feel better!

Geez Vicki, stop making me look like a pervert!! LOL

He knows what I meant. He is so stubborn and the fact that he is talking about laying down by himself without anyone pushing him is amazing to me. If I were a betting woman I would say he will be up in 4 hours and back to work tomorrow! Hence, the need to tie him down....

I went to the ER last night and they found out I have Kidney Stones so it wasn't my back after all. I told them I am a recovering addict so they ave me a shot of Toridol which worked great. I just came home and I still hurt but not as bad as yesterday. Thanks for all of your concern and support. God Bless you all---Rick

Rick-  Your words tell the story here:  "This is the worst pain I've had in years..."

When pain is that severe; something is wrong.  Let Ash take you to the ER. They'll do a CT or MRI. You could have a "block" and they can give you Toradol which is non narcotic and works for almost everyone. It's only for short term use; 5 days or less. It's that strong!

Let us know...I have a feeling you may be there right now (knowing Ash!!)

There is a wonderful non narcotic pain medication called Tordal. We used to give it IV in the ICU/ER when I worked in the hospital. Also sometimes steroids can help with the pain and inflammation. Dont let yourself suffer any longer. Please have your wife take you  to the ER. There are options that do not require narcotics. ~Bkitty

You will not lose your hard work.... let Ashley take you to the ER if you don't feel any improvement, Rick... they could give you a shot from some non opiate med :) take care, you deserve it to yourself and meanwhile, i am sending my best wishes and prayers that you will be ok !!

Sara I have been taking massive amount of naproxen and ibuprofen to no avail. I just don't want to give in to opiates. Ashley is getting worried that it might be something else wrong but I know my body and it's my spinal pain hitting hard. I DON"T want to lose all the hard work that we have put into my sobriety to go away because of a couple of bad days. I don't know maybe I am being foolish.

Rick, this suffering isnt doing you any good.  Maybe you should let your wife take you to the ER.  Something isnt right if you are still in this amount of pain.  There are non narcotic meds you can take.  Dont continue to suffer here.
